Matt Hardy may be available.

I'm surprised this hasn't got its own thread by now, lots of talk about it on other football forums. I thought it was just the usual deflection tactics by Mourinho, but there does now seem to be more to it. Jose has just shot himself in the foot in my opinion, it makes him look a complete tosser.

It should never have been made public.

I do understand what he is saying and this has happened more then once.

It was clear to anyone what Hazzard was doing. Its not nice but is part of the game and is done all the time.

This all should have been kept in house and sorted out in private

Absolutely, I thought his behaviour was embarrassing. It just gets fans wondering about what's going on behind the scenes. You start thinking about other odd happenings, does anyone know the reason for Oscars's rather strange reaction after he scored on Saturday ?

It's just the way Jose is.

He has never been one for keeping his mouth shut during these sort of occasions.

He has always dealt with stuff like this in a public way.

Some say its part of his mind games etc, I just think its who he is.

With 24/7 media reporting and fans spending more and more time looking at screen and talking about football this sort of thing is overblown.

Yes rather it was all kept in house etc but with the mix of Jose and the obsessed media it is what it is.

Both sides made mistakes and hopefully will sit down over the next few weeks and have a honest conversation and sort it all out

Err..no, I suspect that they have a whole team, but since I am not familiar with the Chelsea medical team, and don't know their names, I thought that I would ask on here, for the name(s) of the relevant replacements.

So you can put them in your Sun's medical fantasy team?

Their name will be

Masdadasd Mffdsafasdasdsad

Otherwise known as Fred

I was away on the weekend so didn't see the Swansea match. I will catch up on the highlights at some point, but to be honest haven't felt in any mood to do so yet. The result comes as no surprise though given how poor and off the pace we looked in pre-season.

Mourinho's rant about the medical staff is pretty embarrassing though, they may have made a mistake but he should be more concerned with where it's going wrong for both him and the players of late, rather than trying to deflect the blame onto others.

Also looking at the substitutions why on earth did Falcao come on for Willian? Surely bringing on Moses or even Remy would have made more sense?

Do you really care? Have you learned the names of the physios at every other PL club or something?
Scratchy.

I have a feeling that the actions of our Dr was the last straw on Saturday, there is more to this story.

I note that she has "thanked her fans" on Twitter for their support.

Fans?

Of a club doctor?

She has clearly bought into hey own hype, a shame as she was a good role model for a short while.

No she was just someone doing her job.

The issue for me is should the manager be able to decide when a player gets treatment and I don't think they should. The decision whether or not to administer treatment and to go onto the pitch should be entirely down to the doctor/physio if given permission by the referee or without permission if they feel there's an imperative to do so.

Leaving aside the specifics of this case for a moment, it seems inappropriate for there to be a chain of command whereby the doctor/physio has to get a greenlight from the manager before going into the pitch. The call should be made by either the referee or by the medical professionals themselves with absolutely no input at all from the managers.

All true.

But on the same hand , The Doctor/Physio has to be able to tell the difference between when the person is injured or in need of treatment or is "just having a rest".

I was in the back of the MH stand and could see what he was doing.

I don't think Jose was saying he should give the order but that the Doctor/Physio has to knows the time to come on and the time not to bother. When a player goes down you don't always see them come on.

Dealing the occasion Jose was talking about she was in the wrong going on and its not the first time its happened.

Does seem a bit naive on her part and if it's not the first time I can see why Mourinho was pissed off.

José Mourinho giving Dr Eva Carneiro a bollocking in private is one thing, but letting it go public is well out of order IMHO;......even if there’s more to this story than just the events of Saturday evening.

Given Dr Carneiro’s position and adherence to her professions ‘code of conduct’ it seems very unfair, and remarkably unprofessional, for Mourinho to take the (very public) course of action he has.

I suspect this episode says more about José Mourinho’s present ‘psyche’ than it does about Dr Carneiro’s errant behaviour.

However, Mourinho’s motivation has always been to win trophies;

..........winning the approval of the wider public doesn’t seem to feature highly on his agenda.

I admit its not a easy call.

She don't go on and its serious and she still in the wrong.

Sometimes you have to play the probability game. What was more likely? He needed treatment or he was "having a rest".

As with many things like this there is fault on both sides.

It's a shame as she is very good at her job. Hopefully it can be all sorted out. A good medical team today is very important, Can be just as important as a mega money signing

That's not the view of the majority of health professionals who have commentated on this case though. The referee did signal for the trainer, and in those circumstances their duty was first and foremost to check on the well being of the player.
We all know that sometimes a player will "take a rest", but perhaps Hazard should have made it more clear to the referee that he was in no need of treatment.

In any case that doesn't excuse Mourinho's handling of the situation. Behaving like a petulant child on the touchline, then continuing to escalate things further in the interview afterwards. The former is forgivable in the heat of the moment, but he'd had time to cool down, so spouting off to the media was just the height of stupidity.

Then there's Eva's "punishment" by Chelsea. Surely that's out of all proportion ? All she did was thank the public for their messages of support, she didn't mention anything else about the incident. To me that just seems like good manners, people have taken the trouble to drop her a quick line of support and she thanks them..what's the big deal ?
Now she's banned from the bench and training sessions, and not even allowed to enter the team hotel. Who the hell are our PR representitves, didn't they foresee the fall-out over this ?
The media storm is growing, not just in the tabloids but in the broadsheets as well. Obviously some of it is now being twisted out of all proportion, but for that Chelsea have only got themselves to blame.

As a life-long Chelsea fan, I think his reaction typifies Jose.

Eva has a lot of fans (yes she has, it's acknowledged generally) amongst the supporters and he probably didn't like the attention she gets now and again in the media.

It's a judgement call, someone "having a rest" can look like someone in serious trouble when viewed from the touchline. If she hadn't gone and he was seriously injured and a delay in treatment was "unhelpful," he'd have blamed her for that too.

If we'd won, would he have had a different reaction?

He's displayed very poor "man/woman management skills."

He doesn't come out of this well.

With this you will always find "professionals" will fall on the side of caution. That's just the blame culture. They would say it no matter what happened.

From where I was it looked like he was playing for time, Talking to people who watched the game on the TV and people who was at the ground many people thought the same. Hazzard's body language etc all said the same IMO

Social Media as we have seen is a complicated issue in the game. For me its like anything else when anything happens its best if you say nothing. The second you post anything at times like this and it is giving a interview to the media. Any company would be unhappy with a comment along those lines when a story like this is out there. You will often find today when a company is in the press for a negative story a e-mail will go around to all staff reminding them about Social Media.

Jose's media comments was not out of the normal for him. We have seen it time and time before, Yes at times he goes to far but its not like its the first time and wont be the last. You give the job to Jose and these things are going to happen. Why do people take any notice of the rubbish any manager says after games? I would rather hear from the guy drunk who has watched the game from the bar, Would prob be based more in reality then anything any manager rattles on about. SAF use to ban people Jose make's silly comments to the media,Wenger complains about the other team not" playing football" etc. Its path of the course when you give him the contact. It's why I don't see the point in managers giving interviews after the game. We rarely get anything constructive from any of them win lose or draw. Most of the time you just get a load of nonsense no matter what the result. They are just used to drag out the TV time.

I just don't see what the fuss is about, Is this what football is about nowadays? We have a massive doping issue in sports at the moment and yet some of the media seem more worried this rubbish.

It's not like she has been sacked or anything, She still has a very important job at Chelsea, Could you not say she is wasting her time with "match day issues"? She is a highly qualified doctor and if you look at her history I not sure dealing with the sort of thing that you deal with on the pitch during a match is really the best way to use her talents.

I think the "language" of being banned from the team hotel etc might just be "press-talk", If she not involved with the match day team then she of course wont be required at the team hotel etc. Am sure we have many members of staff who are involved with the first team on a daily bases but would not be allowed to wonder into the team hotel, We would not say they was "banned".

If the media really cannot find anything more important then this to report on then someone really should sit down at their next work appraisal and ask are they really in the field and would they not be more at home reporting on "reality tv". With regards to Chelsea alone I can think of a few more important and interesting that would be a better spending of their time. Its just pandering to the lowest denominator.

I think he would have said the same.

We have seen him say things about players even when they have played well and been a massive part of us winning a trophy or a game

Whilst I didn't like Jose's post match comments, I feel that the media's reaction to this story has been embarrassing at times (I'm thinking of one online paper in particular).

Apparently the physio has also been banned from the bench, yet this isn't getting the same coverage at all. I keep seeing it being described as a 'sexism row' but isn't it the media, rather than Jose, making it all about Eva's gender by putting all of the focus on her rather than on the medical team as a whole?
