2 games in but Chelsea are already 5 points behind Manchester City and Manchester United, their main title rivals.

If Chelsea continue to struggle to overcome Premier League teams, it does make you wonder what their Champions League season is going to be like this time around.

The reaction on here is a bit ridiculous is it not?
Just 2 games in..relax But that's just in keeping with the hyperbole that is the Premier League. |

That's the problem, the team virtually picks itself and not because they all deserve to be in it, but due to having a paper thin squad with a real lack of decent options to switch things around.
Taking off Terry will be this week's talking point. You do wonder at Mourinho sometimes, Terry wasn't great in the first half but he was no worse than the rest of the defence, and surely we needed his leadership ? |

City have a very good home record and have had for a few years. Swansea are a tricky side to play home and away.
We got nil points from those two games last season. |

Yeah but it is still only 2 games in. 36 more to play
Anyway, that's what forums like this are all about. It would t be much fun if we all just shrugged our shoulders and posted nothing.

Yes but 5 points can easily go to 8, another couple of silly draws and you're looking at a gap of double figures. Then you might as well wave goodbye to any chance of retaining the title.

I agree your not the sort who jumps on the band wagon.
You drive them What I do do is look beyond the results and look at the big picture and look at performances and quality of football. You can get by fiddling by with pragmatic football and doing just enough to scratch out results. However, when put up against good teams playing really well, that will not be enough! Too many were fooled by us winning an extremely poor quality Premiership. It was not me who blew 60 million on rubbish like Cuadrado and the Mo impersonator. Not me who continues to play Ramires two years past his best. Not me who's failed to see Ivanovich has been in decline for over a year. Not me who gives a squad place to the woeful Mikel, over an eager, Euro champ youth player. |

Players who were setting the Premiership alight in the first half of last season are not performing at anywhere near their best. But that's football. |

The next game
Courtois will be back, but the gk was not the problem today
Ivanovic. Drop him. Maybe he's upset the dr is out, who knows.. Azpi to right back, Rahman straight in at lb Matic, no problems Fabregas, no problems Ramires, looked bright to be fair, no problems Willian - dropped. Poor. Yes he runs a lot - towards his own goal! Sloppy passing and zero threat going forward. Who comes in though. Cuadrado?! I stand by what I said earlier in the season, Sterling would have been ideal competition there. Too late. Costa, no problems, but he was nowhere near Aguero's form We need John Stones - £30 million plus add ons up to £34 / £35 million PLUS another world class striker, as already said many, many times. Remy - move him on |

Rahman is a start. Can Azpilicueta play at right back? If they can get Stones in I'd probably go with a backline of Azpilicueta - Stones - Zouma - Rahman and put a boot up the backsides of Ivanovic and Chill especially. Midfield is an issue. Where's the width? Where's the midfield enforcer? Moses deserves to get a chance out wide considering how flat they've been. Oscar needs to return at the first opportunity - wide right? Not his position but they have no other options. Keep Matic and Fabregas just behind Hazard with Costa up front. But where are the options? If Mourinho wants to drop Matic or Fabregas who can he bring in? Ramires? Mikel? Oscar obviously is an option but that's about it. Outside Terry, Cahill and Zouma where are the options in central defence? The lack of depth is haunting Chelsea already. The only plus is it's still August and can be corrected. |

Then please explain why our fan base grew after Jose left us?
Please explain why our away support was so poor during his time? I think it's very significant that, for the first time in a very long time we have not taken up our full allocation for today's game. If Jose stays, I can see this happening more and more. He wins things but at the price of turning people away.![]() Look on the website. You see sold out every game. |

All i have seen is you suggest changing the manager and suggesting distinctly average names (and one's who have failed in this league). When people praise Willian for his hard work and amount of space he covers (very important qualities) you say that any player in the team should have those qualities but want to bring in a player who is "eager" yet any player who plays for Chelsea should be "eager". If you have two players neither who are good enough for a first team spot then it is more logical to give the spot on the bench to the more experienced player. Ramies played today as far as we know because Oscar was not fit. Nobody has been "fooled" by anything, We are where we are, I think everyone knows where our strengths are and our weaknesses are but one thing is for certain nothing will improve by changing the manager again. |

As another outsider I don't get why Chelsea haven't really strengthened the squad up to now. The second half of the season was poor and yet nothing's been done about it.

What are you talking about ? Chelsea sold out their allocation as they always do for away games. i can understand you don't like Jose and that's fine but don't make stuff up.

As others have said, let get a bit of perspective. It's only two games. We don't go from Champions to being a bad side.
We aren't at our best so to play City now was not ideal. Aguero is a world class striker who could run any defence ragged. Certainly a bad day at the office but let's not get too carried away.. I would like to see us move for Pedro and Stones ASAP. |

You keep saying who we shouldn't buy or who we would should get rid but have yet to see you suggest one even remotely credible name to bring in.

We in fact had more fans then last year due to the increase in allocation from City this season.
