As another outsider I don't get why Chelsea haven't really strengthened the squad up to now. The second half of the season was poor and yet nothing's been done about it.
Rahman is a start. Can Azpilicueta play at right back? If they can get Stones in I'd probably go with a backline of Azpilicueta - Stones - Zouma - Rahman and put a boot up the backsides of Ivanovic and Chill especially. Midfield is an issue. Where's the width? Where's the midfield enforcer? Moses deserves to get a chance out wide considering how flat they've been. Oscar needs to return at the first opportunity - wide right? Not his position but they have no other options. Keep Matic and Fabregas just behind Hazard with Costa up front. But where are the options? If Mourinho wants to drop Matic or Fabregas who can he bring in? Ramires? Mikel? Oscar obviously is an option but that's about it. Outside Terry, Cahill and Zouma where are the options in central defence? The lack of depth is haunting Chelsea already. The only plus is it's still August and can be corrected. |

Really? If we had an adequate squad at least one of them would be on the bench right now. Probably Fabregas.
However, after s promising start he faded and went AWOL far too often. Now, it's looks like he really is a player who's best days are behind him and easy to understand why Barca were ready to let him go.What worries me is, if Jose sticks around Hazard might ask for a transfer. He must be getting sick and tired of having to carry the likes of Willian. |

Man City deservedly won today, but they did it with basically the same team that failed last season. Their £50m signing, Sterling, didn't make that much of an impact. The difference was that some of their players who were woeful (at times) last year have upped their game.
Yes, our position is the complete opposite. Players who were setting the Premiership alight in the first half of last season are not performing at anywhere near their best. But that's football. To the players and managers shame, City were not up for it last season. Our problen is the usual one for Jose teams - runs out of ideas and motivation after a few seasons. |

Do you really believe the stuff you are saying?
Funny how a lot of 'idiots' in the media say many of the things I say. |

As others have said, let get a bit of perspective. It's only two games. We don't go from Champions to being a bad side.
We aren't at our best so to play City now was not ideal. Aguero is a world class striker who could run any defence ragged. Certainly a bad day at the office but let's not get too carried away.. I would like to see us move for Pedro and Stones ASAP. We would have to either pay way over Utd's offer and or do the same for wages. Cannot see that happening |

[quote=Fudd;79280236]True, true. The substitution bamboozled me to be honest. But at the same time I think Chelsea need to plan for a future without him and give experience to Zouma
Yeah I do agree, Mourinho just needs to find the balance |

'Rahman, a pacy and attacking full-back who can also operate as a midfielder or winger, made more successful tackles than any other player in the Bundesliga last season. He also attempted the most crosses from the left flank.'
Sounds good. Especially impressive for a 21yo. |

You are honestly just the most negative Chelsea fan I've came across.
Did you just imply that the media are always right? hahaha I love my club and was going when we really were shite and nearly in the old 3rd division. I have never liked Jose and neither did the Real Madrid fans, but I doubt anyone calls them negative. I gather he wasn't liked at Inter, too much either.Oh, and i was the only one on here who stuck up for Rafa, when everyone else was being negative. |

Wow, totally shocked by all the "Jose out" posts on here. He is a superb manager and a winning manager. Although I don't like his style at all and his teams are always horrifically ugly, to deny his qualities as a manager is crazy. He knows how to win and wins often.
Maybe the economic crisis in Russia is tying his hands and he cannot buy whoever he wants? |

They are there to keep the lowest demographic of football fans interested |

Mourinho is a better manager than Rafa, that's for sure and does anyone really want Brendan as their manager?! Never heard that one before

Chelsea may get to the point where Hazard asks for a transfer anyway because he may want to move onto bigger and better things; playing alongside Ibrahimovic and Cavani at PSG must seem a tantalising prospect, and he's good enough to get into Real Madrid and Barcelona's sides also.
He signed a 5 year deal so only huge money would tempt Chelsea. Can't see him going back to the French league, he's been there and done it. |

PSG is more of a retirement home, hardly the place for an ambitious talent in his prime who may be good enough for Spain
