Curious to see who will take the other AM slot now that we have a proper RW - runbot Willian, or Oscar.
I think it will depend on our opposition. If we're trying to break down a packed defence, Oscar would be the more influential player but if we're against stronger opposition, I wouldn't be surprised to see Willian due to his ball retention skills and pace for counter attacks. |

Pogba alongside matic please
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFmWDroWLxw That would have the two Manchester clubs worried, and give us a good chance of winning the PL again. Still think we are a world class striker short to go alongside Costa, and we need Stones or another world class CB. |

I noted that Traore had replaced Cuadrado on the bench this week, hopefully he's on his way out before the window shuts.

I don't for one second believe he will sign for us, but I am expecting us to make an insane bid for Pogba this week.
Don't want to pay the fee they'd want for him, but if we manage to include 2 or 3 of our duds that Juve are rumoured to be after........don't think I'd say no. |

I like oscar and willian very much.
But i would sacrifice one to get pogba, matic needs help and we have great players going forward - too many now with the addition of pedro. Cuadrado, Mikkel and Ramires could be thrown into the pot too. I would like to see: Cortois Azpi Zouma Terry Rahman Matic Pogba Pedro Fabregas Hazard Costa Would love to have Oscar, Willian, Falcao, Ivan, Cahill, Moses, Ramires & Begovic on the bench |

Where was Ramires the other day? I hadn't heard he was injured, so seems a bit unusual he wasn't on the bench.

Pogba's fee worries me. His wages even more so. He would want very silly money which would mean we would have to give Eden a new contract. Hazzard for me has to be our highest paid player. I can see him being the type of player who after every decent season him and his agent will be knocking on the door demanding a new contract
Would have him in my fantasy team but cannot see what he brings to us that makes it worth such a massive investment. Talent wise he has it but something about him says run and run away very very quickly IMO its a return to the days of buying players just because we can afford to and totally ignoring the business side of the deal. |

We were one of the very few clubs who won the league with a net spend of £0. When you think about the teams around us like United, city and Liverpool all spending hundreds of millions each, winning last season was an incredible over achievement. Our business plan was working perfectly, until the FFP rules were completely scrapped. Now we have clubs like city willing to spend £50m on average players like Sterling and another £50m on KDB. They are not interested in a return, only publicity. We also have United seemingly trying to get Bale, Ronaldo or Neymar for £100m each. Unfortunately we will have to start ignoring the business side just to complete. Shameful but true. We should however only buy players who will have resale value. Its not that easy though i guess, Di Maria purchased at £60m and sold for £45 million, United fans think they only lost £15m on that player. However, unless players hand in a transfer request, their contract has to be paid up before they can be sold! |

Up until this summer, we had FFP in the UK. It is what made us sell players like schurrle , and Mata, and Luiz and Lukkaku to balance the books to finance high price players like Matic, Cesc and costa (and cuadrado!).

Chelsea winning the league last year was not an over achievement, you had one of the best squads and best manager in the league!! |

Are you serious??? Chelsea won their first two titles by spending millions and now other teams are doing it, you're moaning about FFP etc.
Chelsea winning the league last year was not an over achievement, you had one of the best squads and best manager in the league!! last season we won with FFP rules in place. Now it seems that they are lifted, and the teams that stuck within them (Chelsea) are now at a huge disadvantage to those who should have been fined but were not (QPR, CIty etc) |

There was more end product from Pedro, in the first half than we get from an entire season from woeful Willian. A clear shot at goal from the edge of the box that went 20 ft over the bar
then a goal laid on for him inside the box and he couldn't even force a save, never mind score An utterly useless donkey who should be playing for Newcastle!

Its Roman who insists sticking to FFP, but now the PL is already lost he might change his mind.

its been three games. We drew with 10 men against a good swansea side. Lost to our only rival (as most teams will), and won the other. Wait until united come up against a half decent side, they will be torn apart. As will arsenal with that defence. Liverpool have turned into a long ball team, they were hoofing it from the back, the keeper was not delivering but just kicking it down field! poor. |

Man City are streets ahead with the squad depth they have. But they should be going for their third title in a row this season. I draw comfort from the fact that Pellegrini is not the greatest manager around, and as we know, they are quite capable of throwing their chances away.
Unless Man Utd or Arsenal make a couple of last minute mega signings, they will be in the chasing pack with us. |

It was only a few weeks back that quite a number of people were tipping Arsenal for the title after beating us in a pre-season match. Things change quickly in football. |

They have made some changes but are they enough? Not a massive fan of the manager have to say. They still look like a team who could chuck away the greatest of leads |

I cannot agree. Whist we all would like more from willian, a useless donkey he is not. Sometimes its not just about going forward, its stopping your opponent going forward. Willian is excellent at that.
With Matic out of sorts, and Cesc as the other errr defensive minded midfielder it took willian to run back and help them. I guess not everyone see's the game as i do With City back in form we simply cannot afford to keep playing someone in his posistion who is so inept at scoring and creating. He can have the stamina of Mo, and the speed of Bolt, but that cannot cover up for what he does not and cannot do! Sunday, showed why he always passes the buck. He does it to stop showing up his lack of any real talent with a football. If he tried to do what he should be doing, he would be brutally exposed so he takes the sneaky, cowardly way out and in doing so is pulling off a rather masterly con job. Even donkey Ramires, had his moments of class. |

But he is not being asked to score and create. That's not the job given to him.
Anyway, John Stones has put in a transfer request. |
