Pedro was straight in, so you never know there.

Falcao was quoted as saying that Pedro provides good crosses for forwards. Is that a hint that Willian regularly fails to do what wingers are primarily supposed to do? Namely cross the ball every now and then? Picking a striker out is a bonus, and again it's something that Pedro thankfully appears to be able to do.

Putting attacking players in is a massive difference in putting a defender in. Defending is something you need to do as a team and a understanding of the tactics and your team is critical

Appalling defending again. Something is seriously wrong, and I'm not convinced that Jose is the man to make the bold changes to put it right. Defeat against Arsenal which is looking likely could spell the end.

Well, there's obviously something fundamentaly wrong. We are no longer functioning properly in any department. Everton could have been out of sight by half time, the wonder strike by Matic just gave us false hope.
The back four are all over the place at times, the midfield looks disjointed, and the attack appears toothless. Every team we've played so far this season has looked more dangerous in the final third than Chelsea.
I watched it in the pub with a mixture of supporters from other teams, I think everyone is queuing up to play us right now. Jose needs to get a grip on things fast, but there's so much going wrong with the team, I wouldn't know where to start.

I'm not surprised. As I said, I watched it in the pub, and someone turned to me after 30 minutes and asked if Fabragas was playing.
Scratchy.

Where's my favourite poster, Codeblue? She's been online but hasn't posted. I'm worried.

It is sad to hear Jose living in denial.

Quite incredible to see an entire team out of form.
Said it before, Zhouma is nowhere near good enough! One very basic fault is his huge stride, which leads to him being unable to adjust his feet fast enough and turns like an oil tanker. He will never be able to get past that at this level
Hazard and Farbregas need to be dropped, but we have nobody to replace them.
Costa, doing nothing of any use.
Mikel starting says it all really.

Again though, this was all coming many many months ago, but everyone was blinded by ugly/ lucky results and the dire quality of the Premiership.

Well maybe it's time for us to go thru a bad period. We haven't really had a serious once since RA came. Liverpool are still in one and United are rebuilding from a small one.
No point in being knee jerk and changing managers.
Although it grates on some, we are still the Champions, just need to start playing like them,

If the issues was anything like what posters like Dixon was I would agree that it's time for a change but they are not, the facts are they are as far as you possibly can get from those non issues.

I would be very happy if they was the problems as they would be easy to fix.

Like the lack of real top class players there is a shortage of top class managers available to us.

An honest assessment. Dixon's post goes a bit far, and I don't agree with doon's response, but you've put it in a nutshell really. A bigger problem though is Jose's denial. That is worrying, very worrying, and leads me to believe that he won't last, and that will be sad. Imo, he's half way out the door. Any honest person, fan or otherwise can see that the opposition know exactly what the team will do (e.g. ball up to Ivanovic, same old cross and nobody's there), the opposition play with a lot more passion and intensity and the team appear to be lacking in any real desire.

Matic looked better today, and Pedro tried, but elsewhere, Terry looks very poor at times, and Ivanovic just doesn't seem bothered if the opposition get crosses in past him. As I have said many times, and the concern when he arrived back, I'm not convinced that Jose can change a successful team to keep the success going, or to bring even more trophies. It appears that he can build a team that does well for two seasons, and then has no idea what to do after that, other than move to another league in another country.

A new manager will change a few key things, and imo the team will suddenly respond, not least because they're not being asked to do the same old routine game after game.

Change for changes sake is pointless, it's media nonsense and belongs in the 1980's. You only change if something better comes along. If SAF was available then yes but there is very few realistic options out there

Imo, he'll be given to the end of the month, and at that point even qualification for the Europa league might be in doubt. The club would then go for a stop gap manager in the mould of a Benitez. Who though is anyone's guess. Carlo? It would be nice to see him turn it round, but I honestly can't see it.

That's just change for changes sake.

In any walk of business sacking a senior member of staff without finding a suitable replacement would be seen has insanity.

The stop gap option only worked last time because everyone knew it was Jose coming in.

Klinsmann could do a job, as could.. Jurgen Klopp. AND as we speak, Liverpool fans are trying to get him to Liverpool. Might Roman beat them to it?.. One thing we agree on, NOT Brendan Rogers.

If Liverpool fans are trying to get him then you would struggle to find a more logical reason to go a different direction.

"Could" do "job" is the mantra of the unprofessional and the gamblers

As with any job you look at the C.V and the fields they have worked in and neither Klinsmann or Klopp have anywhere near the CV to be considered for the job.

In how many different leagues?

At what level?

Didn't watch the game today so can't comment on that. Changing the manager would be utterly crazy though. Yes it's a bad run of form the team are in, but I think after winning a league and cup double last season Mourinho's more than earned the right to be given the chance to turn it around.
