The pressure is far from being off us. This result should never have been in question, even in our current form. It was a game the team could play with a less pressure which is something we might have needed but the pressure is back on us again”
That just about sums it up for me. Difficult to assess the performance really, Maccabi appeared to be a very weak side. A bizarre free kick that somehow beat the keeper, and a rather lucky penalty decision. That's all we had to show for all our possession for a long time. We again seemed to be trying to pass the ball into the net most of the time, for heaven's sake, somebody take on a shot occasionally !
But there were some decent individual performances. I thought Hazard did look a lot sharper. Remy never stopped working, I would have loved to see him get a goal. Oscar does make a difference and gives us a better balance. RLC was ok, though both he and Fabregas had a fairly easy time. Same with the back four, they looked solid enough but let's be honest, it wasn't much of a challenge tonight.
Still, it was a good result. If it raises spirits and gives a few players a bit more confidence, that will be a bonus. Onwards and upwards..hopefully.
