Every time the ball goes wide there is nobody in the middle. Not even Costa.
By the time anyone makes it there the defence has recovered. Same thing over and over. |

I'm convinced we don't even go out with a game plan anymore. Far too many of them have forgotten how to football since the turn of the year. |

Even if Mourinho had a complete breakdown this season the quality of player Chelsea has is surely better than these results this season?

Fair play to West Ham. As shit as we are, they are doing incredibly well since Bilic took over. Playing good stuff.

Not a massive surprise we lost. West Ham are a very capable team this season. They are playing very well. Where as we are not.
But at least we did show some small sparks when we went down to ten men. Hazzard showed some flashes but he still showing he needs to step up his game. Not a lot to glean from the performance and nothing we was not aware of going into the game |

As always, too much emphasis on defending and not enough on attack. Missing another world class winger to take pressure off Hazard as said early summer, and another world class striker to challenge for Costa's position, as said early summer. Mourhino said the squad didn't need any new signings, and enthused about Falcao's arrival
![]() Said it all before I know, and the warning signs were there at the end of last season. There is massive money available to invest, and FFP has eased now anyway. January signings will be panic buys and the squad should have been strengthened early summer. It's not looking good for club or Mourhino. A new manager will make more changes and utilise the squad more which is needed imo. Ancelotti a care taker? That's 5 losses out of 10 games. |

Certainly a great time for our pretend fan but a bit gloomy for the rest of us.
They didn't play that bad, some poor choices,, bit of bad luck but ultimately another defeat. I really can't see any point in getting rid of Jose but I can imagine RA is getting a bit twitchy. |

You don't honestly believe that, do you?
My reply was that after every season, no matter trophies are won, the club HAS to continue to invest and improve, and have competition for every position. There is no standing still. Ironic that Moses played very well pre season, and was loaned out to .. West Ham. They beat us with their second choice winger. The club needs to get back to attacking football, as I have said many times. I'd bring in Ancelotti as care taker manager asap and try and get a top 4 finish. Maybe Hazard would then decide to stay at the club. Robben left under Mourhino, De Bruyne refused to play for him, and now Hazard. The club will start to struggle to attract world class talent if he stays, and it's nothing personal. |

Fan view
Another interesting fan view blaming Fabregas. That's a bit harsh imo, although I can't see that he brings more to the team than Mata did.

When last season finished Mourinho said that we needed to make signings to improve the squad and to keep moving forward. As the new season got closer and we hadn't signed anyone, he changed to saying he was happy with the squad and we didn't need to sign anyone. Standard management.
Regardless, whether he is sacked or not we are guaranteed to blow money in January. And it sounds like Falcao wants to cut his loan short, so lets hope we can find a striker who will be of use for a change...... |

That's what he said, and I follow the club very closely. He also said as genuine fans will know, that existing squad players could improve and that Oscar could be another Hazard this season. Crazy.

Of course the club need to continue to invest in players but your version of investment (buying Sterling etc) seems to come from the David Brent school of investment. What players do you think we should have invested in that stays inside our current transfer fee policy and more importantly our wage structure? It don't matter if we have money to invest or FFP ha changed we still should invest in a intelligent and business like way (Sterling's agent fee for the transfer alone would more then likely been completely illogical from a business POV) Are you saying the current players can not improve? If that's true then we should get rid of them now. After you have kidnapped Carlo and forced him to come who would you get in? Another kidnapping may or we just going to give it to a random because they play the Chelsea way? (t mantra of small club fans) |

Over the last 10/15 years we have always built on a solid defence. We looked ok last season, but age and loss of form appears to have caught up with a couple of the players who were so reliable. I do agree with you about the summer transfer window. Even without the benefit of hindsight, did anyone really think, hand on heart, that bringing in Falcao was a good idea ? I did say at the time that it didn't matter too much, it was only one season etc. But looking back, why did we waste the time and money for a player who is never going to recapture his old form. Even the summer-long pursuit of John Stones now looks a total waste of time. If we had bought him, would it have made a great deal of difference ? I don't think it would have altered our current situation. Stones has looked a bit shaky recently, he would have been a good investment for the future, but wouldn't have solved our current problems in the back four. I know Don disagrees, and I always respect his opinion, but I do think the summer transfer window was a bit pathetic for us really..aside from Begovic. |

Calm down lad! I'm aware I have expressed an opinion that isn't yours. That's what a forum is for isn't it? Balanced discussion? Stop attacking people for expressing opinions. You don't own the forum, although you appear to think you do.
Start your own forum with your sidekick yokavich, although I doubt you'll get many subscribers if any view expressed has to tally with yours. Here's an idea: www.doonandyokavich.com ![]() Why do we need to play attacking football if Jose's "negative" Football is successful? What difference do it make? Do you not agree that any business should not conduct their investment in a intelligent logical way? What players do you think we should invest in which fall into those guidelines? What makes you think Carlo would ta a "caretaker" job? After that what proven manager would you suggest he given the job? Or do you think that a massive company like Chelsea should give a inexperienced manager the job? Do you really think that is a sensible business plan? |
