Still very early in the season and if you look at the point difference between where Chelsea are and need to be it makes it even earlier in the season
What kind of timetable are you living on??? a Quarter of the way through (and, indeed, a third after the next round of games) is NOT early!

It is when you taking into into account where clubs will or not finish.

It is too early to say where any club will or will not finish.

We have seen many clubs go on a run of results to achieve many different objectives later then this.

The table is nowhere close to be finalised at the moment.

You never get a true feel for where clubs will end up until much later in the season.

Yes, taking the 7 fixtures up to the end of the year, we have four very winnable games at home against Norwich, Bournemoth, Sunderland and Watford. But we also have three tricky away games against Spurs, Leicester and Man Utd.
A 15 point haul from those games (not unreasonable) should at least take us to mid-table. Not great by Chelsea standards, but it would give us the opportunity to kick-on and close the gap in the second half of the season. We're not going to catch the "big three", I don't think you can give teams like United, City or Arsenal 13/15 points start even this early in the season. But we could still gain a "respectable" finish.

At the moment, given current form, I don't think there are any games that you can honestly say Chelsea should win. Newcastle were on a much worse run of form recently when they almost beat Chelsea. If it hadn't been for Ramires, that would have been another loss, making it eight in 12.

The 'blip' goes back to last March / April when the team / tactics went firmly on the back foot with average to poor attacking play. I don't see any evidence at all that that is going to change, and qualification for the Europa League which is not Chelsea's cup anyway according to the manager is going to be a distant hope.

At the moment and with the current structure in place, the club looks dooned.

Yep. All human actions are equivalent and all are on principle doomed to failure.

We are playing some decent attacking football, we're just not scoring. We're certainly not parking the bus anyway. Sadly, we haven't got the defence to do it successfully anymore.

Let's not forget that this is a Chelsea "fan" who didn't celebrate us winning the league.
That is harder to get our heads around than our form.. It's something I have never come across before.

Looking at the table i just hope they can win their next game or they would be very lucky to not drop into the bottom three

Kind of suggests you're not really a fan now though, doesn't it?

At the moment you seem to often just be doing an impression of what you think fan is through listening to Talksport. Just get outraged at everything with little clue as to why. As if you've listened to 'outraged 606 caller' and think 'that's what a football fan does, I'll do that'.

Well I don't want Brendan, as with Rafa, but you still support the team.
Funny enough I suspect he would do a decent interim job. All the others have,
He hasn't said anything against the club and he could come out with stuff like it's coming home to pacify the fans.
Don't think it will happen though.....

ive been accused of many things here, but "not really a fan" of chelsea is a new one!

utterly proposterous!

It was horrible having rafa as our manager, i just could not stomach Rodgers. Not even a little bit. He is a charlatan.

Well, he was with us for four years as head youth team coach and reserve team manager. I wouldn't want him to come in as a caretaker manager, but that's because I want us to stick with Jose..providing he still wants to stay.
But I'm beginning to wonder if Mourinho's heart is stilI really in staying for the long haul. I know he keeps claiming that he wants to stay, but his behaviour has been strange since the summer. Maybe it's the business with his father's health, but he's not been the Jose we used to know..even ignoring the results.

Agreed on all points. There's been plenty of decisions made by the club that I've disagreed with over the years, but being a proper fan is all about taking the rough with the smooth.

What has Brendan ever said about Chelsea? As far as I'm aware, he always respected Jose and the club. You tolerated Rafa and he said some crappy stuff about your fans and yet you 'supported' Cheslea then.

How is he a charlatan?

Also, where were you when we beat you? You complained about other posters being MIA, but you seem to do the same when Chelsea lose.

The game doesn't last 3 days!!

Also, you haven't replied to why you think Brendan is a charlatan, and in your eyes a bigger hate figure than Rafa.

Playing well. If we had someone who could score we'd probably be 1-up by now. (Then we'd sit back and concede though)

Looked good going forward, but we need better finishing from everyone.
Kenedy looked good, but not sure I'd want to see him there against a better team.

Hazard was excellent. Should of been more but we just don't seem to get in the box enough. Pretty good performance I would say.

Decent performance.

3 points and a clean sheet is very much a step in the right direction.

With a bit more confidence we would have scored a couple more but there was some very pleasing signs.

Hopefully with performances like this it will be the end of the utter nonsense of players not playing for the manager or "being bored"
