Started badly and did not get much better them there.

Some improvement in the second half but that was too late.

We have to stop thinking of its Chelsea vs X or the champions vs X. Today for example it was a team in the bottom of the half of the league vs a team in the top half. We cannot keep thinking about the differences between this season and last. Its where we are this season we need to look at, Games like Sunderland are going to be more important then teams who are in the top half of the league

Awful defending for their first goal, but it was a great finish for their second. But why did we wait until we were two goals down before we started playing ?
First half was a shocker, desperate for points but there was no sense of urgency from Chelsea. Leicester were winning every 50-50 ball, and they got right in our faces from the start. So many players looked to be just going through the motions, off the pace and almost disinterested.
It's tough enough with several players out of form, but the attitude has to improve as well or we'll be in serious trouble. Something's gone badly wrong.

Mourinho actually said something interesting last night (regarding Costa forgetting how to be a striker). Considering how long he has been like this I have to assume that they've had this discussion privately as well, so Costa must be completely unwilling to work on any criticism he receives. Our piss poor luck with strikers continues.

Not a huge fan of Remy, but he simply has to be in the team on Saturday. A striker getting in the box and trying to score will be a massive improvement on a lumbering brat more interested in roaming wide/trying to win a penalty.

You always feel Remy is much more likely to score a goal than Costa these days. Absolutely should be in the team.

Good to see you back on the forum Terry, I guess it's nothing to do with Arsenal doing well eh. Whatever happens mate, there is only one team in London who has won that big cup. And it ain't your team mate

The rumours in the papers reckon he will be in charge for the Sunderland match. If they win Chelsea could be in the bottom 3 could they not? How long will they stick with him?

Since jose is probably one of the best managers in the world I just don't see him getting sacked. Title is gone and top 4 is unlikely so this season will be written off and there will be a clear out in the summer. Obviously if it continues in the first 10 games of next season then he could be sacked but I doubt very much it will continue like it is.

As history has shown the manager at Chelsea can be sacked at any time, Be it them being a couple of points from the top to being mid-table to being near the bottom of the table it all depends on the mindset of one man and/or the information being passed on to him by those close to him.

There is no point in second guessing him as its happened at all different times and for all different reasons.

The most sensible and logical time to look at the situation is at the end of the season where everyone can sit down and look at the whole picture and everything from recruitment to preparation for the previous season to the day to day management. Making knee jerk decisions are fine for short term fixes but long term they set a dangerous precedent.

Totally agree. I mean what would be the point of sacking him. Bring in a new manager and they'll still more than likely finish outside top 4.

We cannot use the same model as most clubs do when sacking managers. It works for most of the clubs in the league but when it comes to Chelsea/City/Arsenal and Utd you need to follow a different method.

There needs to be more discussion internally and more things to look at then for most clubs as the rewards and downsides are that much bigger

Pardon the intrusion, but may I just ask, when you say "there will bea clear out in the summer", which people do you think will leave (or which people do you want to)?

I think Costa could go. He's more of a liability. Hazard just doesn't seem to want to be there. Fabregas could also go. They say you find out what your players are made of when you go through this kind of bad run. Willian won't be one of them. He's really stepped up. Then again José might just keep them. Still a lot of the season to go so anything can happen.

That is a fair analysis I would say, thanks for the reply.

As Jose should be given the rest of the season to show improvement so should some of the players.

If neither do then just like with anyone who is not doing their job then its time to move on.

Hazard for example who came off injured I think last season when he was playing well and we was playing well and near/at the the top of the table he would have stayed on and not wanted to come off.

At this level we know the players are good enough but just like some might say about Jose its if they can improve on winning titles. Are these players only able to get to a certain level? If you are asking questions about Jose abilities with a CV like he has surely you need to ask the same question about the players?

At some point you have to stop down the same old route every single time of just saying its the manager

It is the way any manager will end until the club stop making knee jerk reactions but don't see it happening any time soon

Guessing Roman will make a big move trying to convince Pep to join Chelsea.

He will fail though

More then likely.

If I was a top manager I would avoid Chelsea for all the money in the world.

There is no reason for any top manager to go to Chelsea at the moment apart from a big payday when you get the sack.

Just got in from work to see he's been sacked. Absolutely gobsmacked. Can't believe he wasn't at least given until end of the season. Be interesting if the team suddenly start playing well under the new manager and where will José go now, Bayern maybe?

Yep if Jose can't get Chelsea to work then something is seriously rotten at that club. Assuming of course that he wanted to make things work.

Don't think the powers that be would like José at Bayern.

Ancelloti is the favourite for that job

Jose to take a break, and then perhaps take the Portugal job after the Euro's, I think might just be his next job, either that or the PSG one.
