Chelsea fans at the ground are seeming to blame Fabregas , Hazard and Costa, apparently there is a banner with 3 rats on it with their names underneath, and the players apart from Terry were booed when they were read out

The shackles are off, we're playing football again!

A fantastic first half, and while Sunderland are struggling, it's great for confidence. Brilliant from Oscar and Matic especially. Costa still off the pace a bit, and Fabregas is quiet, but a massive improvement.

AND Hiddink now appointed:

Come on lads, there's been some disagreement on this thread, and at times a wee bit of disrespect which is out of order.

As a season's festive gesture, you're all invited to the 'Dog and Duck' for Christmas drinks, AND I'm even prepared to arrange for an alternative menu for any muffins who want to join us. The main meal is a traditional Christmas one, and the other option will be risotto, sun dried tomatoes and olives.

I see Chelsea have remembered how to play football again.

Whats the significance of Drogba? Is he wanting to be a coach? I would have thought he'd be loyal to Jose but perhaps he has his blessing? Or doesn't that matter?

Playing a lot better, i guess all the rumours of Jose losing the dressing room were true. A team transformed?

Have to admit, if that was the case, he was right to be sacked.

But what does that say about the players? We all sometimes have to work for managers we don't like, but should they get away with playing below bar and the manager taking the hit? It is however the managers responsibility to get them playing at 100%, and if he can't do that he isnt doing his job properly.

Drogba is in it for himself... Always aware of where the cameras are and most of what he says and does is for show..

Shackles? Oh right, I never realised that they had previously been playing in leg-irons. I thought that maybe Mourinho had been slipping something in their drinks.

Yes, it's a win and three valuable points. But we have played well in games before this season, and against better opposition than Sunderland. I'll reserve judgement for now.

Really no difference to the Porto game but of course Tit Top, a Liverpool fan, can't see that. Glad those players got stick, thoroughly deserved and well done Holland for taking them off to face the fans.
I do think though that should be it now.

Why do the strikers with the worst scoring records always manage to do it against us?

Call yourself a Chelsea fan? No Chelsea fan would chant against the team. Did you celebrate today or sulk?

A very good analysis from a real fan:

Some great football played today by world class players. It's not over, and still looked shaky at the back at times, but like a different team.

Come on the Chels'!

Says who?

Only players booed when their names called out was really Costa,Cesc and a mixed reaction for Oscar and Matic and a tiny amount for Brana this reminds me of the media reporting there was boos for the team when actually they was booing the removal of a fan

I said he should stay, not that he would stay. Do you understand the difference? I doubt it. You can't even do something as simple as getting his name right.

And before you get too excited let's see how many titles we win under our next permanent manager, and how many titles Mourinho's next club wins. If he does end up at United and City get Guardiola then I won't be putting any money on us winning it anytime in the near future.

While we're playing silly buggers, who scored the first goal today? Was it that player that you were so adamant shouldn't be in the team, by any chance?

I knew that had to be bullshit. As if Willian would have been booed after the effort he's put in this season.

Played OK but no more then we have in small doses recently but for a slightly longer time. Still too many passengers in the team and mostly not playing in anywhere near the level they should be playing.

Sunderland are poor very poor and the by far the poorest team we have seen at the bridge for a long long time and even saying that they at times looked better then us.

Of course people with extremely low standards will talk about the game and overhype some performances and some players abilities but that is normal nowadays, everyone is "word class" when they are no more then top players

Glad we won, but couldn't stomach watching the full game so just caught up with the highlights. Agree with you though, it's nothing to get excited about. It's a home win against a poor team at the end of the day, much like when we beat Norwich and Villa. Will take more than this to see if we have really turned a corner.

Personally I think it will be as an assistant but we will have to see. It just might have been one of those things that just happen sometimes

I am sure he is loyal to Jose but the main thing is the club (something many of the current players struggle to cope with as football seems to have come a individual to some players and more sadly some fans) and plus its a very good opportunity for him.

Think its worth trying to watch the whole game if you can, Just to see things have not changed that greatly.

Not even sure we can really have an idea until Feb if we have really kicked on

Boxing day games are often not our best games even when playing well. Utd at the moment will tell us very little.

Jan is a funny month and a real mix (Is beating Arsenal real evidence of anything for us?) but feb is a very busy month so hopefully give us a broader picture

Would be funny if Chelsea now win the Champions League, finish 4th and win the FA cup. No doubt manager would still be sacked.

How will he be sacked when he's only contracted till the end of the season anyway?

I think that particular blogger has a track record of wanting to get rid of Jose, and he's entitled to his opinion of course. But I think he's being wildly optimistic after a single, slightly above average performance against a very weak team. Oscar suddenly looked like Messi, defenders were so mesmerised they just stood aside to let him through. Let's see if we can replicate, and hopefully improve on that kind of performance against a few better teams.

With regard to the fans chanting Mourinho's name, what cannot be denied is that we won the PL title about seven months ago with Mourinho as manager. Until another manager can match up to the record of successes that Jose brought to the club, I don't think many Chelsea fans will be forgetting him in a hurry.

Well he would be let go regardless of how well he does I should say. Personally I'd give him another season of the manager targets are not available.

But that's not what he has agreed to. He has only agreed to do the job until end of the season. Would you force him to stay? How would you do that?

Not sure you understand the meaning of the word interim

I celebrate every win and trophy even if it's a manager I don't like.
So now answer my question. Wasn't it a great day when Stevie G slipped and we spoilt the party. Jose's plan worked a treat. Fantastic day right and a great celebration ?
Tell me you loved us stopping Liverpool win the league. I dare you
