What are people's thoughts on Oscar now? At the end of last season opinion still seemed very much divided on him. There were those of us who thought he'd been disappointing for most of the time since his first season and weren't adverse to seeing him moved on, and those that wanted to keep him or at least give him another season to see if he could recapture his early form. This season he's been mostly disappointing again, but it's been a bizarre season where he's been far from alone in that.

We've probably missed our last chance to get a silly fee for him, but we should still be looking to move him on. Three seasons of "he's tired - he's played a lot of football" plus one of "he's saving himself for the World Cup" and the truth is he's just not that good.

I don't know, it's a mystery to me. When he first joined, I thought he was one of the most exciting prospects I'd ever seen. He seemed to have everything and had the football brain of someone years older.
We still see it in flashes, but he's never really lived up to that early promise. Like others, I thought he had perhaps played too much football. He was probaby asked to do an important job for Brazil before he was really ready. But that doesn't explain some of his mediocre performances recently.
But we do tend to forget that he's still only 24, so I wouldn't write him off just yet. If he could just turn those flashes of brilliance into consistent performances over 90 minutes, we would have one of the best players in the world.

Yeah, it was me that said that Mourhino would eventually leave, and that he wouldn't turn the form around. A few idiots on here who spout nonsense said other wise. A large dose of salt?

I like Oscar but its not been easy for him.

He came to Chelsea after not really playing much club football (played for the Brazil under's teams nearly as much club football) so really lacked that much needed experience. At that age you need stability more then anything else and Chelsea have prob been one of the least stable clubs since he joined.

He has had alot of pressure put him these last few years with little or time to learn (plus you could argue no way of learning) how to deal with it. I like to see how some of how our younger players would handle the pressure like the Brazil team was under during the World Cup and one in this country. We would pretend we had a chance of winning a home tournament as we do any tournament but really if we was honest getting to the quarters would be over achieving to a massive extent but in Brazil's case THEY HAD to win it and for them not to and not even perform to a even our standard would have been a major blow to some of the players.

He needs some time away from football, A proper end of season break (and not one like the insane one we gave the players last year) and a season of stability. There clearly is some talent there but he has got to learn how to transfer that on to the pitch and he needs help doing that. As much as he has not got to the levels we expected him to be I think we as a club are as much to blame for that as he is. I don't think we have given him as much help as a player like he needs

It's very worrying that the club is so exposed up front. If Costa gets injured or suspended, with Hazard and Remy out (not going to even mention Falcao), we'll struggle.

Said last summer, and a few times since then, we need to strengthen up front. Suggestions?

I'd buy someone world class and not just as temporary cover.

The guy clearly has bundles of technical talent, but as with the likes of a Balotelli, it goes to waste if you're not mentally right/up for it week in week out.

It's a good sign, and I don't agree with posters who claim there's little change since the new manager was appointed. There was an immediate change in attitude, and behind the scenes, key changes to training with more variety, and more intensity it seems at times.

That's good for the younger players especially, and readies them for later in the season when they might get a look in on the pitch.

I think we should convert Matic to a CF. Big, strong, good in the air. He even likes to dribble and take on defenders and sooner or later he's going to get a shot on target. Remember what an enormous success Chris Sutton turned out to be ?

Now he was a great striker for us.

As for turning form around we don't know what would have happened if he'd stayed until the end of the season, just like we don't know what will happen under Guus. All we can do is wait and see.

Did he not go and end up working at Leeds? Ok things are not good but I don't think we need that type at Chelsea.

We looked comfortable enough, some nice build-up play but we should have more goals to show for it. We'll get punished against stronger teams unless we start putting our chances away. Still, RLC on now, should be interesting.

Getting thru is the main thing. Decent performance though overplayed at times.
