I do find defensive midfield frustrating. Matic has made an enormous difference, but we still don't really have adequate cover if he gets injured, or another natural ball winner to play alongside him. Mikel is ok for those occasions when you really need to shut up shop, but he doesn't contribute much in other games. Van Ginkel could be the answer, but it's asking a lot of such an inexperienced young player. Ramires would be ok alongside Matic if he can recapture the form of a couple of seasons ago.
Still, Mourinho must know what he's doing. If there's one thing he will insist on having, its a strong midfield unit. it's totally against his nature to see one of his teams bullied around in midfield. |

It looks as if a few clubs are interested in taking Marin on loan, but they all deny any interest in wanting to sign him permanently.
Another player who promised so much as a youngster but just didn't make that step-up to the top level. I would have thought he would still be a reasonable gamble for a club with more modest ambitions ? |

Just out of interest, has it been established yet, as to who your first choice keeper is this season, Cech or Courtois?

this is a chelsea supporters forum, of course im going to back costa
as a chelsea supporter yourself, aren't you looking forward to watching costa play? I'm just glad you've admitted your views are based only on the fact a player plays for Chelsea or not and nothing to do with their ability as an actual player. Makes it easier to know how seriously or otherwise to take people's opinions wouldn't you say? As a grown up I'm very much looking forward to seeing Costa play. I am very interested to see if he can make the step up he'll need to. |

as a chelsea supporter yourself, aren't you looking forward to watching costa play? For the sake of clarity, could you please point out where, in the terms & conditions, it states that 'Supporters Threads' are exclusively for supporters of the relevant teams? |

Like Diego Costa, you mean?
I think 10 goals from a striker who played mainly on the wing in a team with Falco as the main striker is not that bad also was very good in the cup that season (think he finished top goal scorer) 20 out of 44 is not a bad return when you are not the number one striker |

he is good, dont get me wrong, having improved tremendously. but i feel we are so quick to make judgements. £27m for luke shaw as a case in point.
Dont see a connection myself. We are talking about a player who has played for 3 seasons in the league. One who has performed very well in two of them and pretty decent in his first and at one of the best teams in football. |

You keep doing this.
For the sake of clarity, could you please point out where, in the terms & conditions, it states that 'Supporters Threads' are exclusively for supporters of the relevant teams? but what one should not do, is to come into a forum and deliberately become an antagonist. of course i am bias, i am a partisan chelsea supporter posting in a chelsea supporters forum. of course i think cech is head and shoulders above de gaea, but i shouldnt be chastised for it. |

Again its all personal views.

Inferring that De Gea has only had one good season is ludicrous, as you pointed out above. |

Well could you point out where anyone came in with the aim of being antagonistic? As far as I can see, Batdude asked a perfectly reasonable question about your goalkeepers. You developed that, in order to have a pop at David De Gea. It's your standard MO. You regularly slate other clubs and their players, and think that it's ok, because it's in this thread. You can't do that and expect supporters of those clubs to not react. Why not do that on a Chelsea forum, if you must? |

I need to see him have another couple of seasons like the last one. When i say that, i get reminded, (how thoughtfully) that costa has one had one amazing season so far. One could argue that the MO of a post like that, in a chelsea supporters thread, is designed to antagonise is it not? I like discussing football. If i have a negative opinion about a non-chelsea player or a non-chelsea team, then i seem not allowed to have that. As i no longer wish to be on a forum holiday, i respectfully keep the opinion that i think that LFC will have a very difficult season this year, balancing the increase in games with the loss of a world class striker and the gaining of what i think are too many new players, in this thread. It causes less antagonism, and i am still allowed to post. |
