It was a nailed on penalty against Fabregas at the weekend.
Agree, but Costa dived, so it evened itself out i guess.

I watched it several times and cannot see any contact. That means he dived.

You might have not seen any but there was some.

The degree is not important, In that situation any degree of contact means a red.

Yep, the attacker was impeded so it has to be a red.

It is one of those things you only need to see once and don't need slow motion or rewind or fast-forwards or pause or fancy screen shots etc. One viewing and one viewing only is needed. Every single thing about it says "off"

Ramires is officially gone.

Pato and some American defender (Matt Miazga) are about to sign,

Got to be honest, thought it was a pen'. Smart by Costa to cut across him like that, and that's football. Plus, Clattenburg owes us some fairness after the Torres fiasco a few years back.

Ramires goes to China and Dixon doesn't think Costa was fouled.
A bizarre day all round.

Watched it yet again and i see no contact whatsoever! What i do see is Costa rolling on the floor as though he'd been hacked at both knees by Chopper Harris and Norman Hunter.

You can watch it 1000 times and still not "see" any contact but there was still contact and him rolling around the floor is utterly irrelevant much like the silly Chopper Harris comments.

If you are clean through with a goalscoring opportunity and the defender dives in like an idiot there is only one outcome and rightly so and no amount of perceived rolling about afterwards changes that!

Looks like Remy's going to Leicester on a permanent deal.
I'd say we need back-up for Costa, but would we even notice he's gone?

Can't say I'm that fussed if he goes. He's a decent enough player but unfortunately a bit too injury prone, and frustratingly he's usually out when we actually need him.

Decent player but even when fit I still don't see him as a starter.

Very good player to come off the bench for us but nothing more

If they offer us a decent deal then we should take it.

Would be a decent move for him

Looks like Pato has completed his loan move to you, presumably that puts him ahead of Falcao in any perceived pecking order?

First choice sub, or can he force his way into your team?

No idea if he can break into the team but I don't think any of us are expecting much from this transfer. The bar isn't exactly high right now though so who knows. At the bare minimum he has to be some improvement on Falcao though.

Very true. Whenever he got his chance he was injured.

Costa is hit and miss at the moment
Falcao is injured and is actually a busted flush
Pato is equally useless

Why can't chelsea ever get their strikers right?

I don't know but any of us could have told them that signing Falcao would be a waste of time and money. It's as if no-one at the club watched him at United last season.

Lol at Costa being hit and miss "at the moment" when the past month he's been scoring a goal a game and is probably the main reason why Chelsea have improved their form. The only issue is that he is injured every couple of months and since Falcao is useless/forever injured Pato on loan makes sense. If he's useless we buy a striker in the summer, if he's decent we take him in the summer.

Who realistically is available in January as a striker?

Fabregas and Costa have a very good relationship on the pitch, when one plays well, the other does too. Costa's ability to run the channels is totally reliant on Fabregas being able to pass it to him as nobody has the ability to consistently find him with a deep final pass(Hazard can, Willian sometimes).

Hear reports that Conte may join Chelsea after the euros.

Charlie Austin was for £4m.

Austin yeah that's a possibility but would he have been satisfied being 3rd/4th choice striker when he's going to be in the first team usually for Soton? Plus with the very high likelyhood that Chelsea would buy a new striker in the summer regardless and with Falcao potentially coming back from injury, I doubt he'd have wanted to come and end up like Remy(who funnily enough wants to leave due to lack of gametime).

Available to Soton doesn't mean he'd be available to us.
