Are you sure about Matic ? Most sources are still predicting he will be in our line-up.

Terry definitely out for PSG match, and maybe from the FA cup tie against City. Matic banned for the PSG match, and Simeone possibly on his way for next season:
https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/die...104158636.html That's more of a strong rumour, but it does make sense. He knows Costa, and is a proven winner in a very strong league. Hiddink could have been given another season, although he is an interim, so hopefully the season won't now fall apart the way it has for Pellegrini, after it was confirmed that despite his and City's progress, he'll be leaving, even if he won everything this season. Not the most motivating bit of news a permanent manager could get! Come on the Chels'! |

I'd prefer Simeone to Allegri or Conte. It doesn't get much tougher than competing with the two Spanish giants, and Atletico have made some shrewd signings since he's been there.
I wouldn't mind Hiddink being given another season, but would he want the job ? He's steadied the ship and calmed things down, but I'm not sure that he has the ambition to take us further. Or perhaps he just likes to play his cards close to his chest ? |

Bit dull playing PSG for the 3rd season in a row in the Champions league, but i feel we will have enough to get past them. Ill go for a 1-1 draw tonight followed by a 2-1 win at the bridge.
We are improving and getting closer to our best, and i think beating PSG will put us back as a team to beat if you want to win the CL. |

Sorry but I don't think Chelsea have chance against PSG tonight.
PSG is arguably a better team than anything the Premier League can offer, so Chelsea will face their toughest test of the season yet tonight. I can't see them winning. I reckon it will be PSG 2-0 Chelsea. |

I don't really agree, PSG are running away with the french league yes, but that league is incredibly poor. They have no rivals to speak of and Monaco are their closest team, which if you look at their squad is hardly amazing.
I think they will be surprised by Chelsea tonight. They still look a lot stronger than us in midfield though, I'm just hoping the pressure and expectation gets to them. |

Famous last words maybe but Chelsea are making PSG look very ordinary ever since they started having a real go.
If this keeps up the game is really for the taking for Chelsea tbh There's goals in this for them Pity about the shocking goal they conceded |

PSG 2 V Chelsea 1
PSG were the better side, let's face it, and had much more of an attacking threat. If Hazard was 100%, that would make a difference, and he's still about 80%. He can always pop up with a bit of magic though, and I think Oscar on for Pedro would have been a better move there.
Rahman was very good, both defensively and in attacking play, and now he's getting more match time, I don't think there's a case for saying he's another example of wasted money. For the return leg, Matic will be back, and Fabregas did very little defensively in the match, so a pairing with Mikel should make a difference. Terry will also probably be back, although Ivanovic at CB as predicted by Tip Top many moons ago looked very good. There's still a chance. |

Shame we didn't come away with the draw, but I'm not too disheartened by that result, it gives us a decent chance of progression.

Decent result and some positives for sure.
All the defence played well and praise due to Rahman. Hazard was disappointing and I thought Guus missed a trick in not using all his subs. I would of given Traore or Kennedy a run in the last 15. |

I thought we did as well as we could have expected. No Terry, Zouma or Matic, and PSG have more (and better) depth in their squad than we do at present.
Given their first leg home advantage, they can't be satisfied with a 2-1 scoreline. We're still in there with a decent chance. |

I find it sad to see Hazard coping so much stick from Chelsea fans.
He looks like a lost soul out there now. Devoid of confidence, lost a bit of pace and looking like he no longer enjoys playing in English football, never mind playing for Chelsea. I agree with those that are saying all this tracking back is not suited to him and it's taken it's toll on him and that the 'flair players' come across as lazy when things are going their way because they are just no good at the tracking back and tackling back round their own penalty area. We are asking too much of him to be one minute tackling on the edge of his penalty are then the next moment expecting him to go bombing forward skinning defenders at the other end of the pitch. We should not need to have 9 men back in and around our penalty area. We should let him have the freedom to roam around and save his energy for where it's most needed. Some people are now starting to compare the fall of Hazard to that of Torres. I think he will fall that far down and never recover if he stays in England, or if we don't let him play his natural game. That was what we brought him for after all. |

Hazard didn't do himself any favours by saying he'd find it hard to turn down an offer from PSG if they came calling. Even if that's what he's thinking, he should have kept it to himself.
Why PSG anyway ? They're not Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich, he presumably just wants lots of money and a cushy life, playing mediocre opposition nearly every week. He's gone down in my estimation, not because of his form (that can happen to any player) but I think his attitude stinks. |

While PSG or not Real,Barca etc they are now a big name in football. If he went to Spain or Germany most weeks he would be playing against mediocre opposition anyway, Maybe not to the level of what you would find playing for PSG but still nothing really special but they have history on their side while PSG are a relative new name in the game. But as the world of football gets bigger they could be a major name in it. I think sooner or later we will see a Super League formed and team like PSG could really take advantage of something like that.
Don't most people want a cushy life and lots of money? I not a fan of his attitude lately but can understand it, I not going down the route its due to how he is being asked to play etc as I really don't think it makes a difference but he has played in the English league for a long time now and as the game changes so do the mindset of the very top players, They want new challenges and new life experiences. Playing in the Premier League is tough both from a physical standpoint (Eden has been pretty much beaten up every game he has played) and a mental one as well. Same as I don't think we will see top managers stay at a club for more then 3 years or so I don't think we will see top players stay for more then 3 years, There are just so many options out there for them (and prob more coming in the future). We are not the most stable of clubs and that is going to affect players as well. I honestly think he now wants a change, I don't think it would make a difference if we was at the top of the league or we was letting him do what he wanted on the pitch, I just think he has come to a time in his career (like many people do in good jobs) where he wants a change. |

I also think that moving to PSG isn't really showing much ambition. They will probably win Ligue 1 in France for the foreseeable future without breaking sweat, but it's unlikely that Hazard will earn the same kudos as Ronaldo or Messi playing for PSG. Don't most people want a cushy life and lots of money ? Oh yes, I would for sure. But I also think that if I had Hazard's amazing natural talent, I'd want to test myself against the best. Footballers only have a short career, the best should be able to hang up their boots and have a cushy "retirement" doing media work or something anyway. Before that, I'd have thought they would want to make the most of their talent. I had hopes that he would stay with us and become a Chelsea legend. But if he wants to move on, that's fair enough as well. I just think there are ways of going about these things, and Hazard isn't making himself any friends..not that he probably cares. |
