He's probably not the first choice of most fans, but we could do a lot worse.
I'll be happy to see an early announcement made if it does come off. It will be good to get all the speculation out of the way and the club can start making plans with the new guy..whoever it is.
I'd be happy enough, but not exactly ecstatic.

I mentioned him from the time Jose was in trouble. Should of put a few quid on it.

Would you be getting him after the Euro's?
If so, you would be in a similar situation to us when we got LvG, in wanting the national team to exit the tournament as soon as possible, so that they can get down to club business.

I'm probably happier than most, but I do think he will do a great job.

I just think for what he has achieved domestically he doesn't get the recognition.

OK Serie A isn't the toughest league in the world, and Juventus are always going to be the favourites to win it but I do rate Conte and hope he does show what he can do against the Guardiolas, Klopps and dare we say it, Mourinhos in the Premier League next season.

I think if it does happen Roman has made a great choice.

(P.S. I did say the same about AVB, who I still don't think got enough time, and if I am wrong I'll freely admit it. haha)

He'd come in next season as Hiddink is in charge until the end of this season and yes we would get him after the Euros.

I wouldn't say I'd want an early exit for Italy though. Yes it would maybe help him settle in at Chelsea but I'd want him to do well at the Euros so he has momentum coming into the club and maybe not having to face questions about early exits and if he's that good.

Good 3 points though very pedestrian at times.
Surprised how defensive the Saints were.

Recently its been their biggest strength.

Don't blame them prob their best option of getting something out of the game.

More so getting their goal when they did

And their goalie who I would say was at fault for both goals

I gather his football philosophy makes Jose's look like Keven Keegan's so he could hardly be any worse for me!
Why on earth does a club with our resources have to resort to a manger, who, from what i hear is only interested in packing the defence and trying to knick a goal at the other end.:
I'm already counting down the days to his sacking.

Well i think Chelsea have got a great chance of getting Paul Pogba as he played under Antonio Conte but the problem will be trying to get these players when Chelsea wont be in the Champions League next year

It's called winning titles.

Its the most important factor.

Where have you heard this supposed idea about his football philosophy? Have you actually done any research? Or just gone by what you have been told?

Chelsea win and a negative post from Dixie, what a surprise. Are you really an older supporter ? You post like a young kid with all those silly emotions.

Yeah, why on earth employ a manager who knows how to win titles. What a daft thing to do....... Pirlo says he's the best manager he's worked with but hey what does he know.

Since you are a fan that's never happy regardless of results, who do you want as manager ?

He's not even been appointed and you're already knocking him. Why am I not surprised?

JT, wasn't it? Even though he's never managed a team so no-one would have the foggiest what style of play he'd implement.

Yes, Pirlo also said..
“I have played under a lot of great managers. But I can say that Conte is a genius. Like all men who possess genius, he is a little mad. The man can be a beast, a dressing room when he is angry is one of the most dangerous places you can be.”

Sounds ok to me.

Tip top or Dixon will not be happy until we have Rafa or Rodgers in the dug out and Ian Rush up front.

Yes, very strange how they always agree with each other and both like ex Liverpool managers......

The Italian league was once the top league in Europe with the best players playing great football. It'is now a bankrupt 2nd rate league filled with teams playing negative, boring football in front of half empty stadiums.
No top club outside of Italy would tolerate boring, negative, win at all costs football. No club except us,.
Why not save money and hire big Sam if all you want from is us a win at any cost?
It's sad and embarrassing to see some on here openly admit that they really don't give a toss about what they watch. You might as well go and watch a game of Tug Of War for all the felling you have about the beautiful game.

Because Sam has won what?

Once again you are not telling us where you are getting your information from? I can guess but maybe i will be proven wrong?

Are you blaming Conte for the state of the league in Italy?

And its not a surprise but you are not saying who you should be given the job I am only guessing why (they are not good enough or unavailable)

There are a very small amount of suitable candidates and you argue a even smaller amount those candidates who would realistically take the job.

Is he the best option in the world? Of course not but he is a sensible and logical choice more so then giving untested managers the job or those who have not won anything.

"feelings" about the game are not important. We are discussing filling a vacancy. We are discussing who has the best CV for a certain job. We are discussing the type of person the board will be looking,We are discussing who realistically available for a job. None of which your feelings or my or anyone else's feelings matter a jot.

Yet you were happy for Chelsea to employ a manager that was openly critical of the club, was despised by the fans apart from you and created the most awful atmosphere at the ground.
And you thought that was good ? Now that's sad and embarrassing mate.

You really do yourself no favours posting such nonsense. Yes, corruption and bribery scandals did leave Serie A in disarray. But what has that got to do with Conte ?
The Juventus team he put together was outstanding, especially when you consider the limited budget he had to work with.
He had world class defenders like Bonucci and Chiellini. A fantastic midfield that included Vidal, Marchisio, Pirlo and of course Pogba. He also got Tevez for £10m and had him playing probably the best football of career, along with Llorente who arrived on a free.
Do they sound like "kick and rush" players to you ? He did insist on total commitment from his players and cares little about reputations. But isn't that what fans want as well ?
He also expects total freedom when it comes to transfers, so I'm hoping to see the end of the business about the manager giving a "wants list" to Emenalo in April and hoping he can find players who might fit.

Seems someone has actually looked into Conte's history as a manager, A interesting way of seeing if a manager has a good enough C.V. I think its also worth mentioning going though a season undefeated and getting the points record. Of course the level of the league is a factor but he can only perform in the league he is working in, Winning the league no matter what level is an achievement of course but certain clubs of course its less of an achievement so at manager of those clubs you take a deeper look that is when point records, winning the league without losing, going on run of games, points difference between those teams that came 2nd and 3rd,Cup results (what is their recent history in cups and has the manager improved on that),Did they improve points total in the next season etc etc.

I hope he is given a free hand in the transfer's but I think while he might get a bigger say then in recent times I still see it being a committee based decision, Hopefully he will be able to bring someone in on that so along side of him he will have more of a chance of getting his main targets

A certain someone will be drowning his sorrows in The Duck tonight.

Today was a very rare occasion where i was glad both Manchester clubs won. Liverpool defeated in a cup final and Arsenal's title chances suffering a setback.

He will need a few to get over those pens.

Yep, excellent day. I can live with Spurs winning, we still have to play them.
