His last job - He got the sack as manager of Greece after four months of terrible results.
I think i've spotted someone who doesn't know their facts. I don't understand the reservations about taking a chance on someone like Howe. It's not like Chelsea's world will come crashing down if he fails. If things don't work out, he'll get the sack, just like all the managers before him. With the sacking of Jose months after signing a new contract and winning the title the previous season, it's now clearer than ever that every manager has to win, win, win and keep winning or else they get fired. It's not the ideal way to run a top club, but it has worked for us in the past so who can really complain about the sackings? |

For any appointment of a vacancy you look at the critia of the appointment.
You look at the size of the business you are making the appointment and look at people who have worked for companies of that level. Of course sometimes you can manage to recruit someone who has worked at a higher level but to recruit from a company of a lower level? Very unusual way of working but each to their own I guess |

Lets not forget that Dixon was banging the drum for Brendan to be our manager based on half a season of playing good football all through having a world class striker.
Amazing how he bangs on about how big a club we are, all the resources available yet wants small time managers to be appointed. A troll indeed..... |

Of course appointing a less expected name might work, It might work if we went out on to the Fulham Road on Saturday and picked a manager from the people walking down the road and it might work if we appointed someone like we doing now, All might work but which is the most sensible and logical route to go down? Which is the most business like route? Which route is more then likely pay off? All the sackings I agree are not the best way of running the club BUT as long as we use logic and intelligence and go about making decision's in a sensible and business like way (even if it is the insane football business way) then even if the decision is wrong at least we have made it in the right way, Nothing wrong with making wrong decision's nothing wrong with failing but as long as we have tried our best and as long as we have tried to make the right decisions based on the right critia at the time then we are doing the right thing |

Van Gaal did very well for Holland and look how he's done at United. Just no for Eddie Howe. He's been in the premier league for one season. Maybe see how Bournemouth do next season before potentially giving him the job. |

Poor 2nd half but thankfully the 2 goals were enough to secure the win. 3 wins in a row now.

Awful second half, far too casual but thankfully Norwich didn't have a lot to offer.
Hope he rests a few on Saturday. |

Is that now a measurement of success? We are above other teams as well |

Going off Codeblue's logic, Chelsea could finish 19th. But it'd be ok, as long as Liverpool finished 20th.

Good three points. Interesting to see starts for Kenedy and Traore with Pato on the bench. Should be an absorbing run-in to the end of season. There's a possibility of finishing in the top six, and we still have interests in the Champions League and FA Cup. Of course we could end up with nothing, but whatever happens at least there looks to be light at the end of the tunnel after our disasterous start to the season.

Klopps Liverpool although I not sure what is the reasoning behind putting the managers name before the teams

I can see the reasoning for doing that, seeing as Top 4 is a write off and no-one gives a monkeys about the Europa League. Saying that, we've finally started to get a little winning run going and I think we should do our best to keep it up, to give us some momentum and confidence going into the PSG match.

I think The Europa League is better than nothing, and it doesn't seem to be held in the same contempt in the rest of Europe as it does here. Besides, it's more tv exposure which means more money, and doesn't our league position still have an effect on how much we get from the broadcasters ?

Winning the Europa League was ok before, as it created a bit of history (winning a trophy we hadn't won before whilst making us the first British club to win the full set in Europe). But I wouldn't care for ever seeing us play in it again. I feel we'd be more likely to get back into the Top 4 / push for the title without having the distraction of playing on Thursday nights next season. I would like us to win the FA Cup this season though, so if qualifying for it is a by-product of that then I'll live with it.
) I think we have to aim for as high a profile as possible. Fans around the world would still be thrilled to see us in a European final even if it's only the Europa Cup.
