Yes, it's good news that JT will remain with us in some capacity. Just having Drogba around the place seemed to work, even if his contributions on the pitch didn't amount to much.
It does nothing to solve our defensive problems of course, we were a shambles at times last season. We still need a CB and LB (or RB) and they will have to be sufficiently experienced to step straight into the PL.
We can't rely on a fading Ivanovic and JT if we want to make a serious challenge for the title next season. Hopefully Zouma will recover without further problems. Azpil remains pretty reliable, I think we can ignore a few shaky performances last season. Baba Rahman is probably a better player than we've seen so far, but he doesn't look quite ready yet. It's going to be an interesting summer.

I'm not sure on the CB (I just hope it's not Stones), but for LB I'd quite like us to re-sign Bertrand, already knows the club obviously and seems to have done well at Southampton.

It is very odd that most of their posts seem to be anti chelsea and their fans!

Terry re-signing for a significantly reduced wage is a fantastic deal - and shows up other club legends who moved rather than stay on and take a pay cut (as if 50k a week plus bonuses is not a fortune!)

I dont know what to make of the euro final. Its on no consequence if LFC win or lose it, id rather chelsea won it again!

What i did find interesting is i listened to Klopp very closely. I cannot be sure if he is a managerial messiah at Anfield or of he is the new brendan rodgers. He talks, a LOT, 99% of which is drivel and cliche.

When he said last night words to the effect of "my players will have to learn to keep playing after they conceed a goal" , what sort of nonsence is that? Well duh!

Utter tripe and you know it. Before he came to Liverpool, he was unanimously liked by neutrals in this country, he still is well liked actually.

As for not being convinced, you do know he's won two german titles with Borussia Dortmund, beating the mighty Bayern Munich on both occasions, no easy feat with the players they've had the last 10 years. He's one of the top managers out there, had he not signed for us when he did, no doubt Chelsea would have been in for him as he was the hottest free agent out there, apart from Carlo but he was never coming back.

Nobody has said he was a bad manager at Chelsea but he was at the time not a fit for what the owner wanted at the time. He did a very good job BUT the role had changed from when he joined,The club had changed and the KPI's had changed from when he started. I think he said it himself in his notes in on the first day of Romans first season, It was a new club. There is no doubt in my mind sooner or later he would have won the title with Chelsea but unfortunately that was not good enough for the owner, He wanted to a 100% guarantee that we was going to win the title there and then and Jose offered that. I had no doubt whatsoever after Jose first press conference we was going to win the title, At no point did I not think we was going to win the title throughout the season it was prob the most relaxed I have been about a season, With Cladiuo I would have thought we had a very good chance but sadly for him that was not good enough, Its a shame but that's business

Being liked by neutrals (or by anyone) is not important, Yes its nice but I really don't think its important. People "like" all sorts of things.

Yes he is a very good manager that is not in doubt but I would like to see more of him before I say he is a top manager. Would I want him at Chelsea? Not at the moment, Yes he is very emotive and passionate and as football fans we like to see that but rather a manager has other abilities first. Liverpool is a perfect fit for him at the moment, The league is going to become more and more competitive over the next couple of seasons, The teams who can attract certain players is going to increase and that will be good test of his abilities. This summer will be massive for him, He will have a very difficult transfer window to contented with (as will many clubs) and it will be interesting to see how he (and Liverpool as a business) handle it.

At the moment I think he will do a pretty decent job at Liverpool maybe not quite as good as some sections of the media are saying but I can see why they are going down the route they are and he might have the needed abilities to do so but will need to see him putting those abilities into practice first before I label him a "top" manager. IMO saying someone is a "top" person in their field should mean they are part of a very short list

The bit about him being liked by neutrals was in defence of him talking in cliches and drivel. We both know he doesn't talk drivel, he may have made a couple of off the cuff remarks but that's about it.

With regards to him being a top manager or not, his stock has probably fell in the last year or so because of his final season with Borussia, but when he was out of a job there were still many top clubs who would have liked to have had him as their next manager. As you say, give him some time before writing him off, let him buy his own players and mould his own team. It's gonna be tough for a lot of teams next year with Pep coming and maybe Jose at old Trafford so we shall indeed see what he's made of.

It depends on what you call "drivel" some of his comments might be in the realms of some of the stuff Rogers use to come out with (and I would consider what he said most of the time could be classed as that). He does have his own way of putting certain things which I think could be considered cliches but I think that is how some of the newer breed of managers seem to talk. Maybe drivel might be going OTT but sometimes I can see some of the stuff could have shades of drivel but I think its just "modern football" talk

I think Rodgers and Klopp are two different managers when it comes to pre/post match interviews. Rodgers would say the same stuff over and over again whether or not the team had played well or not, he did talk a lot of nonsense to be fair.

Yes, I'd agree with that. Rodgers just talked in clichés (but he's far from the only manager who does that) whereas Klopp does seem to be more of a maverick.
I like him, he comes across as a bit of a one-off. Whether he can pull it off with Liverpool remains to be seen, but I'd certainly be more optimistic with Klopp as manager if I were a Liverpool fan.
Klopp as Chelsea manager ? Yes, I wouldn't have minded if we had appointed Klopp, but I'm not so sure it would have been a good "fit" for us. With all the egos to deal with, we need a tough, no nonsense manager to get things back on track. I'm not sure another zany "character" would have worked.

It's not his team yet. Like Dortmund, he'll sort things out over a season or two with players who can betters fit his physically demanding style. You clearly haven't paid much attention to his career.

Horses for courses, as they say. He served a long apprenticeship at Mainz, leading them to their first appearance in the Bundesliga and qualification for the UEFA cup. Then he achieved great things at Borussia Dortmund. He must have something.

Fantastic news about JT - with a new Manager coming in, I think he is pivotal.

And to take such a big cut in wages is such a refreshing thing to see. I have seen comments of, well he's hardly going to be skint is he, but his playing career has one maybe 2 seasons left, if he stays fit? You are a long time not playing so need to earn as much as you can, so yes, again, it's a refreshing thing to see that staying at Chelsea meant more to him than megabucks somewhere else until his career is over.

Completely capitulated after Sevilla's first goal, was strange to see. One thing Liverpool are is that they are always up for the big game. Klopp has finished 8th and lost the 2 finals he has got to and has not won his last 5 finals. Wish everyone would stop saying he is the Messiah because he is 'zany' - be interesting to see how he does next season, with the players he brings in.
