Five years and 110 k a week?
Madness. Chelsea should not be signing remy, it's a backward step. On the plus side, Remy is probably a £15/20m player without the medical doubts which don't seem to have resulted in any problems so far. So, it's a bargain fee up front but costly in wages. I don't think it's necessarily a backward step. He has more to his game than Demba Ba, and he's almost certainly an upgrade from the Torres we've seen with us. He might surprise us all, but if he doesn't we can go for a bigger name next time. I don't think we could realistically expect to sign another established world class striker at this stage. |

I think Remy is an ok signing, he scored a decent amount last season, if he can do the same for us he will be an excellent signing. He wont be first choice obviously, but he should get plenty of game time as Costa cant play every game(or ofcourse injuries). Drogba clearly the 3rd choice striker for occasional 10-20 min appearences or starts in meaningless games(cups).
For the price we really arent going to find anyone better, I dont think splashing out on Falcao or Cavani is the right answer either. Costa is clearly a top quality striker so we dont need another now. The good news is that we now have a top quality squad which feels on far as the first time Jose was here. It was clear the squad needed cleaning up as it wasnt right. Really good transfer window from us, some top quality signings and we look set up for a strong season ahead, fingers crossed! I expect us to be challenging for the premier league right to the end. |

A good window, but we need to get rid of deadwood rather than keep loaning them until their contracts expire

Deal done, we have signed Loic Remy. They are stating £10.5m but that could be Euros, I thought the buy-out was £8.5m ? Four year contract, but no details of wages.
Ps..passed his medical, but so did Torres and Shevchenko.

I'm not sure about this signing. I guess at least we have cover now. I hope he stands me corrected! |

I'm....OK...with signing Remy. Reliable back-up and an upgrade on Ba and Torres combined.
Still expecting van Ginkel to go on loan. Not made the bench in 3 matches, plus - I'm sure Jose said - we still need to shift a foreign player. |

Identified player.
Bought player. No dilly dallying, offering this negotiating that etc. Another spot on transfer. Very worrying we doing things right for a change, something got to be wrong somewhere |

Really pleased with yesterday's win, even if the defending needs more work. it's just a shame we have a couple of weeks to wait now for the next game! Bloody internationals!
![]() Remy is a decent enough signing for a back-up striker. What a difference a summer makes - Costa, Remy and Drogba replacing Torres, Eto'o and Ba. I still wonder if we could do with another centre-back though? Is Zouma ready to step in if needed? |

No, zouma is not ready yet,.
International breaks are terrible , just as the season gets started. I hope none of our international players gets injured. In fact, I hope none play. The wc has only just finished for goodness sake. |

Reports are saying that Van Ginkel has agreed on a loan move to A C Milan.
Necessary after last seasons injury, but still think he could add more than Mikel. |

![]() Be a tough game. Your guys have looked very impressive especially this weekend against West Brom. Should be a good game too though. |

Can't remember seeing anyone overly impressed with him in pre-season, for what it's worth.
Apparently his game deteriorated after that leg-breaking challenge and the subsequent 10 match ban he received. Before that he had shown tremendous potential and was being talked about as a future captain of the national team. Perhaps it's a confidence issue, he's still only 19 ? |

Im guessing we will have quiet deadline day, Van Ginkel going out on loan will probably be our only coming and going. Good luck to him, hope he gets playing time at Milan.
Falcao to Utd is a strange one, seems like a good deal for them but you have to think will Falcao help their problems? No idea how he will manage to get Falcao, RVP and Rooney in the team without dropping Mata? Rooney perhaps drop into midfield? |

I'm also hoping Cech will still be with us by the time the deadline passes. The more quality back-up we have in all positions the better. |

Yes be nice if Cech stays but I really dont blame him if he goes and if I was him would be on the phone booking a flight. But what ever happens its been a good window for us |

Great window for Chelsea. No scatter gun approach, all planned though Remy a bit last minute.

It is nice to be in a position, three games in at the top of the table with a settled side - coming into the ridiculous international break. I just dont get the last minute decisions on players like Falcao. He has been linked to three different teams this morning - Unveiled at Madrid, then deleting tweets he was going to City. And now he has signed for United on a loan deal. How on earth can these three teams work like that? The impact on the players who are now rivals in the same side, like RVP, cannot be underestimated. Our side now picks itself, we know our best 11. How on earth can other teams know this? |
