But I can't see us getting these deals done in the few days left, so we'll just be left with an unhappy player for at least half the season.

But that's if it's true, as you say.”

james rodriguez is exactly the player we do not want to sign

laughable.”

I suppose you also don't strip your current England captain and give his role back to someone who has retired from international duty either.

First I've heard of it.

Oh, I agree with you. I'm just trying to make sense of some of the rumours. Paying £60m to get Real Madrid out of trouble for signing a player they didn't need doesn't seem good business to me. I wouldn't have thought he was a Conte "type" player anyway.
Might be interested at half the price though.

Our latest target seems to be Marcos Alonso. Can't remember him impressing at Bolton, and I don't even remember him being at Sunderland.

Someone at the club needs to come out and explain how we've become so bad in the transfer market. If Kante didn't have a release clause we wouldn't have signed him either.

Its been the same for a while

Costa was a release clause deal
Cesc told them he wanted to leave Barca
Batshuayi we was forced to act because other teams started making moves
Pedo told them he wanted to leave
Willian was due to the club running out of money

why dont WE start signing these washed up players on loan instead of full price?

Because that's not how the system works.

Clubs would be highly unlikely to do loans deals with a club like Chelsea.

Falcao says hello

Also, the James deal was supposed to be a loan, before the Madrid president nixed it.

No we wanted a loan deal, They rightly said go away and come back when you are a professional club who can actually conduct trasnfers

Falcao was a different type of deal then what we are looking for at the moment plus Monaco are looking at any options

A new low in their discussion:

"Kurt Zouma.I know some fans rate him highly and is the longterm replacement for Terry, but he's too imobile and lumbering for my liking"

i have no idea how any chelsea fan could ever write such a thing. the mind boggles

Erm. probably because they aren't. Let's not forget the same person said Chelsea fans would want Spurs to win the league. Doesnt even know who our main rivals are !!

As for Zouma, it's his pace that gets him out of problems. A lack of mobility is just laughable.

Don't know what it is about so-called Chelsea fans on here. If it's not them, it's the returning United fan back under a new guise as a Chelsea fan. You probably know who I'm on about.

Indeed. Zouma has represented France at every level, a country that isn't exactly short of fine, young central defenders. Before the unfortunate injury Deschamps said he wanted to build the defence around Zouma and Varane.
We could probably use a ball-playing CB to play alongside Zouma, that's why a future partnership with Christensen is so exciting. But Zouma is one of the best around already, and he's still only 21 years old !

Just read that Atsu is about to be loaned to Newcastle. We still have Piazon, Bamford, van Ginkel, Chalobah (maybe not), Solanke, and Omeruo of our usual lot to get rid of for the season, plus Remy, Miazga and Kenedy.

Such a shame that so many of our players who were highly rated as youngsters are now struggling to attract attention. Piazon is 22 and has had half a good season in his career. Omeruo impresses for Nigeria but has never found a real club home.

Yep, bit of a sad state of affairs really. Getting that star player come thru still seems far away.

Remy loaned to Palace, finally. Leaves us a bit light in the striker department, although he's seemingly always crocked anyway so we probably won't miss him.

Leaves us very short of strikers unless we intend to give Solanke an opportunity to step-up occasionally. Our loan policy doesn't make sense to me, why loan out a 29 year old player like Remy ? If he was surplus to requirements, surely we could have found a buyer earlier in the window ?
Then there's Traore. He did well in the few appearances he made last season. He would surely be in with a chance of games now with only two experienced (if you can call Batshuayi experienced) strikers ?

he is the perfect 3rd striker, especially if we start playing, as we should, with 2 up front

chelsea are mental

Someone should tell him that being 3rd choice for Chelsea is much better for his career then being part of the first team most weeks and then lock him in a small room when he has finished laughing at that person so he can not escape

When we have needed this "perfect 3rd choice striker" more often then not he has been injured.

If a player wants to go and he is not a vital member of the first team there is no sensible reason for keeping him around

Yes, but this couldn't have happened completely out of the blue. If he wanted to leave, I agree let him go. But we surely could have got a price for him, his CV before joining Chelsea was quite impressive.
Now we've just got 18 year old Solanke and RLC (if Conte intends to use him as a striker) as back-ups. It was less than a month ago that we were looking to bring in Lukaku or Morata, now we've lost an experienced striker !

i think its possible he is using Palace as a stepping stone. I don't think he would want to go there on a long term deal. He has a impressive CV as you say but has missed an awful lot of football what with never being first choice at Chelsea and injuries.

Looking at pre-season he used RLC In a more forward role and he has mentioned that he sees that as RLC future quite recently.

I don't think anything we could have done could have kept him (in the role we had in store for him) and not sure who would come in for him at the level he would want to play at. He bangs in just 10 goals for Palace and he will have some clubs of a better level coming in the him.

His value at the moment is not bad but unless he really stinks the place out it will be the similar next season or if he performs then his value will go up or if Costa goes (as think we will have the same transfer rumours) then we can see what the best route is to take.

Of course it's not come out the blue but with the way the club is currently being run as with regards to players can this really be a surprise?

This is a situation of our own making and we have to accept the outcome of it.

It would not be fair to a player of Remy's level to let his career suffer because we cannot get our act together.

There are rumours doing the rounds up here, Glasgow, that we are in talks with PSG over the return of David Luiz for a lot less than we sold him for
Now being reported in The Sun Online
