I dont think they were expecting Torres to leave.

It is nice to be in a position, three games in at the top of the table with a settled side - coming into the ridiculous international break.

I just dont get the last minute decisions on players like Falcao. He has been linked to three different teams this morning - Unveiled at Madrid, then deleting tweets he was going to City. And now he has signed for United on a loan deal.

How on earth can these three teams work like that? The impact on the players who are now rivals in the same side, like RVP, cannot be underestimated.

Our side now picks itself, we know our best 11.

How on earth can other teams know this?
I don't think us Chelsea fans can be critical about other teams transfer policy with our past

I think we can all agree there's a lot you don't understand.

Its not complicated.

Utd for example the new manager had to look at what he already had etc. He could not make decisons before he spent any time with the players, The same reason Jose did not come in and splash big money on some random striker etc

Falcho is one of those players that its only really been confirmed he is available in the last day or so.

It's all to do with the domino effect. A piece has to fall in place before another piece can move. The FFP rules have complicated this still further. Man City would have taken Falcao without hesitation, but to comply with the rules they needed to reduce the amount of wages on their balance sheet. Rumour has it that they were trying to get rid of Negredo, but they couldn't thrash out a deal with Real Madrid.
Facao himself made no secret of the fact that he wanted to go to Real Madrid, but (perhaps surprisingly) they weren't interested. They are only interested in a back-up striker right now, much the same as us.
Arsenal were supposed to be interested, but Wenger can barely decide which socks to put on in the morning, so clinching a deal today was always going to beyond them.
United have signed him for a loan fee of only £6m, but his wages are astronomical..£300k a week. If United are honouring that in full, it takes it up past the £20m for a season that was being mentioned previously.
It remains to be seen if it's a good deal for them. On the face of it, Falcao looks like another luxury purchase when they still have obvious weaknesses in midfield and defence. But there are rumours that RVP needs an operation sometime this season, so perhaps it does make sense.

Think he might have thought its worth waiting for the next window and see what has happening.

There will still be a line for him a mile long

Yes, we certainly look stronger than this time last year. I'm still nervous about injuries to either Costa or Matic, but you can't solve everything in one window.

True, although I feel better about the back-up striker situation than I did a week ago.

No surprise.

He was not 100% a cert for our last game so not a shock.

Absolutely, let's hope it's just to rest it before the Swansea game

Yep, it sounds like a reccurence of what he had before the Everton game. Hopefully he'll be available for the Swansea match. I had hoped Spain might drop him after the World Cup, but that was being optimistic given his great start to the season for us.

At least Belgium didn't call up Hazard for this round of games.

We going have to survive without him sooner or later. We need to judge the team without him before the season really starts.

Rather it was now then during Xmas and more important parts of the season

I didn't put Mourinho down as a man who'd gamble making a hamstring injury worse - they're sodding annoying injuries as a slight pull can develop into something much worse if not 100% right. A tear can put him out for 8 weeks, for example (not that it's that bad yet).

I once pulled a hamstring taking a penalty As I collapsed wondering who'd shot me I can still hear the other lads saying "rebound, Sloth!". The ball hardly got to the keeper, for God's sake!

Took me at least six weeks to get back to normal. Didn't ping it again after that thankfully. Surprised, as I had blinding pace...

He gambled knowing what a monster Costa is that he could get though the Everton game and him not playing the international game. Think if they did make him play we might have a bigger problem then we do know
