All this shows me is that Jose was an absolute genius to get this team over the line to win a title. Bar a couple, it's pretty much the same team.

Ivanovic has been a great servant but he's no longer good enough. For his own sake he needs to be left out otherwise he's going to get so much stick.

This has been on the cards since 2012.

We needed wholesale changes from Carlos last season and we have failed to even come close to doing anything near that.

We have some really good technical players but they lack the mentality and the intelligence to perform at the standard needed. For all the criticism players like Obi Mikel get they know one thing how to win football matches.

Players like Hazzard have continually not stepped up to the plate and to often we as fans have made excuses for them instead of saying they just don't have the ability we need,

Our last title and Utd's was due more to the managers will to win then the players ability to perform.

Conte is the right man to for the job IMO but he needed to bring in his players regardless if we needed to spend 50m or 300m. There is no pointing in giving someone like Conte the job if you going to tie his hands behind his back.

Where we are is where we deserve to be. Today was about our level as we can get.

I think the fact that the person who negotiates the transfers for Chelsea consistently fails to get the deal done for the managers top targets is something the owner should really be looking at here. But, no still sits smugly in the owners box, seemingly untouchable

Our defence has been managed horribly for a few years now. Such incompetence. We let a good LB in Bertrand go, which was stupid because that was the season Cole left as well. Fair enough then, we got that wrong so we brought in Luis but what do we do? Let him rot on the bench whilst Azpi our best defender and a natural RB plays at LB and Brana plays at RB. Luis leaves so we bring in a young player in Rahman and he rots on the bench as well and is loaned out next season. It's a shambles and this is before we even get to Ake who had a good season at LB for Watford last season but was immediately loaned out again before we found a replacement (to a team that doesn't even need him). Ivanovic hasn't been good defensively for a while now but in past seasons he would chip in with goals which placated most people but the reality is he shouldn't have got a contract extension last season/he should be a cup player only.

Zouma was going to be loaned out as well this season. This just shows how incompetent some people are. Whoever came up with the idea of 2 year loan deals? Christensen should've been with our squad this season but we would've had to shell out £20 mil to get him back. It's ridiculous. Why did we even buy Papy, Miazga and Hector? They aren't good enough now and we've got youngsters like Zouma and Christensen coming through.

Obviously certain senior players are not good enough currently, I'd love it if Conte just started playing the young players. If they fail, they fail but at least they are learning and maybe that will show the board that they need to put their money where their mouth is. Chalobah, Aina, Tomori, RLC should just be played more. Pedro, Ivanovic, Cahill, Matic and Courtois all need to see the bench or leave. Willian hasn't been good since Jose was sacked but at least he has his moments occasionally.

Where do you start with the problems?

If Ivanovic, and more lately Cahill have a bad game or even a series of bad games, what happens? Nothing, they get picked again. Where is the motivation to perform well, if you get picked anyway?! That only happens at Chelsea from what I can see.

Conte promised change, but there's hardly any change at all. Where's the forward player to help Costa out? Where are the changes to the defence?

The players are clearly downing tools again, and there is an element of player power there, but maybe they're also losing confidence in the manager.

My opinion is that the team want to attack more but are being told not to. There's little if any support for Costa, Luiz appears terrified to stray forward where he can be very effective, despite the fact that Kante and Matic can cover him.

The RB position is a joke, a very bad joke. There's Alonso now who can slot in, and Aina is a better bet than Ivanovic.

The conservative approach being taken by the management at the moment could turn a shaky season into a disastrous one. There doesn't seem to be anyone at the club who is prepared to make the bold decisions required to fire the players up.

Agreed. If Pep was our manager then guarantee that certain players wouldn't be in our team currently. However I am a bit reluctant to blame Conte because clearly the board didn't give him money to get the players he wanted and also he's just the "head coach" not even the manager *sigh*

Regardless of all the politics though, Conte has to deal with what he's got and the decisions he's making are questionable. He doesn't seem to have an effective plan B as shown by the Liverpool and Arsenal games. At no point during yesterday's game did I feel like we could get back into the game and that's disheartening.

Jose took this same team to a league title. Yes a defence that included Cahill and Ivanovic won the league yet we have a couple of clowns on here who were so desparate for him to leave.

There's definitely a problem at board level, and the manager has to be given time and space to make the necessary changes, agreed.

There's a very strong player culture at the club having said that, and if he's smart he will sit down with the players and listen to them. It's a two way process. He's making wrong decisions at the moment, and needs to adapt. Attacking football HAS to be the way forward, and mozza did damage there. The Pep method is the way forward, and Conte could very quickly get the players playing very fast, accurate football if he chooses to.

Hopefully over time, the player dominance aspect of the club will decrease and the manager will be allowed to manage. At the moment, even the Pepster would struggle at Chelsea.

I'm not sure that culture that got rid of AvB is still there though. Terry and Brana are probably the most influential in the dressing room but I don't think players like Cahill and Matic are that influential.

Yeah I agree about attacking football. We had the players for it as well three years ago. Our squad depth in the AM position was unbelievable with the likes of Schurrle, KdB, Mata and Salah.

Whatever happens I feel like if we don't get top 4 this season then we are screwed. There's only so many seasons players like Hazard will be willing to stay without CL football and it will start to become difficult to attract those top players. Wish Courtois had made it clear that Spain is where he wants to be much sooner, instead of us selling a club legend who actually loves the club, based on the fact that we expected to get at least 10 years from Courtois.

Don't think i'll be that bothered if Hazard leaves, as long as we get decent money for him. Yes he's a great player on his day but he's becoming like all of our other attacking midfielders where the good games are vastly outnumbered by the mediocre/bad.

Think Spain would suit him. Plenty of easy games where he doesn't have to put a full shift in.

Cech's time had come at an end, He was a great player for Chelsea but sooner or later more so with a goalkeeper you have to make a logical decision and not a emotional one. It happened before when the decision to make Cech first choice goalkeeper and we had a great keeper who was a club legend and actually loved the club.

Who said we expected to get 10 years from Courtois? That is not going to happen in the modern game. Players have so many options nowadays that staying at a team for so long is highly unlikely. He likes working in Spain? What a shocker, I am sure if you asked players who have played in England and Spain quite a few would say they would rather play in Spain, Who knows if you went to work in Spain you might say the same thing. Also you tailor you answers to the person asking questions, If was for a Spanish media outlet so the answers will be in aimed at Spanish fans. To much is made of these pointless interviews players give. That option is not on the table for him at the moment anyway regardless of what he wants due to the transfer ban

As for Hazzard if he want to leave so be it, Great player but he has gone missing to often during his time at Chelsea, If feels like his time at Chelsea is at a end so be it, We should still be able to sell at a premium price

Like another poster has said, there are parallels between the job Fergie and Jose did for their last premier league trophy wins.

Cech is still doing well for Arsenal so it's fair to say his time had not come yet. The rationale for getting rid of Cech was that Courtois was younger and we could get more years out of him compared to Cech who might only have been able to give us 5 more. You might disagree with that reasoning but that's what most fans at the time thought as well as the manager. Courtois is not arsed about the club and looks like he'd rather be somewhere else (Spain) and his girlfriend prefers living there. When he said it at the time it was clear what he was implying. The Belgians in our team don't have a problem with running their mouths off when they are not happy, Kdb and Lukaku did the same thing.

Fine we'll sell Hazard. We might as well start calling ourselves Arsenal if we are just going to sell our best players. The league is way too competitive at the moment and we can't be stuck with players like Pedro and Moses (even though I like him) players of Hazard's calibre are a requirement. Take away last season when he was playing injured, Hazard's been great since we bought him.

But according to fans/pundits and everyone else we have a billion players on loan and what is the point of them going out on loan and playing well (and you argue at a better standard then Chelsea) if they don't get a chance, we have done that and it's the wrong choice, Cech was never going to stay as number two (and rightly so). Are you "arsed" about the company you work for? Is everyone who works there? Would you (or people you work with) not rather be somewhere. Again ask most players wife's and partners where they would "prefer" to live and most will prob say Spain. As mature adults and professionals we might "prefer" to be somewhere else but we still get up in the morning and go to work and do our best

It's not running their mouths off, They are asked questions and they answer them. These are not ambushed interviews outside their front door but arranged ones

Hazzard has been a very good player for us but it's the same with any player there comes a time when they want to move on and experience a new league and a new club that is just part of the game as it is today. Many people would take a chance of working in other countries if presented to us (Sadly a mentality lacking from most English players) he is just as likely to leave if we winning league titles or not. It's only natural for someone who is at the top of their chosen profession to want to experience different environments

Courtois lives with his Spanish girlfriend so there maybe pressure from there to move.
He needs to be playing well if he wants a move to a top club. Currently, as with others, he's struggling.

I am sure many men know the feeling about being pressured from their partners about lifestyle choices and doing what they want.

Any move to Spain is not on the cards at the moment so I not sure what the issue is with what he said.

Talk about Courtois struggling is nonsense. A few so called 'fans' trying to stir up more trouble. None of the goals conceded have been his fault, and it's Ivanovic and Cahill who are the main culprits there. They need dropping and then selling.

Doesn't matter what calibre a player is, if they only turn up when they can be bothered as seems to be the case with Hazard thesedays then it's not going to help us get back to where we want to be. If we're settling for players that provide the occasional moment of quality but do nothing the rest of the time then there's plenty of those around.

Talentwise Eden is up there with players like Ronaldo,Neymar,Messi,Suarez but attitude wise is as far removed from them as you can get. What makes them the players they are is not their talent but their attitude. Its so important in turning top players into great ones, We have seen this time and time again with talent players, Eden has a better one then some but its not anywhere near those names They are the type of players who turn bad performances into decent ones, Decent ones into very good ones and very good ones into excellent ones.

Not expecting him to change the results of games like the weekend (although maybe games like the Swansea one) but he should be the one who we as fans should be talking about the performance of as a positive and way to often in games like this its not happened.
