You can't compare me to a professional football player who gets paid millions a year. I'd still turn up to work because I need the money and Courtois still turns up because he's under contract but it's not too much to ask that players of the club don't talk about where they'd rather be. None of the goals conceded on Saturday were his fault true. I think I actually saw him shout at someone to cover Bellerin for the second goal but no one did and the rest is history. His buyback clause expires in January I think. I say we just get him back and it will only cost us 12mil, which is very good in this market. He's a better backup than Pedro at the very least and would probably be more productive than Willian over time. Pep has already expressed interest in Thorgan and Christensen but I don't think we'd be stupid enough to give them Christensen.

With us seemingly not willing to spend money the 12m could be put towards the first team players we need today.

Bringing in players like Thorgan and Christensen (not that we would sell him) is logical for City as they are years ahead of us in terms of bringing in players, They have a first team so can bring in back ups and bench players. I get what you're saying and if Thorgan wasn't a former player with a buyback clause I'd say no. However, this would be too good an opportunity to miss and it's so cheap. The way he's progressing he won't stay in the background for too long.

I'm not sure the rumours about Keane and Davis are true. If so, then we've really lost it. Saw something about Bonucci as well so hopefully that's closer to the truth. Koulibaly would be better though because he's younger but we've probably given up on him.

It is cheap but I would rather put the money to top up a bid on someone like Koulibaly (not saying we would get him but transfers like that would be). We clearly have a certain amount of money to spend, We could find our self's in a position where we need to pay over the odds for a player and not sure at the moment using money for back up players be it 12m or 4m is a sensible route to go. We cannot let the "fear" of missing out on players for the future dictate our current buys. If we was in City's position it would be perfect. But at the moment the future is pretty bleak

I thought our transfer policy was to get players cheaply and to sell them on for more money later. Surely, we didn't actually buy Miazga, Papy and Hector to play them in the future. We made some profit on Papy but it's more like loose change. Regardless, those in charge can't have missed the fact that their transfer policy has not done us any favours lately

At the start of the season I would have said a centre back and right back was most critical but today? I am starting to lean towards we need to be looking at a much bigger job. If football was played on paper it would be very different but looking at performances I think we need major surgery

At the moment I just think every spare moment and every spare penny (even with money coming in) needs to be put in the first team.

I think we bought those players in for no other reason then those are the standard of deals we could do. Some people in the club thought ok we could not being in our first choices so lets just bring in players on the off chance and we can at least say we have been doing some work knowing that no matter what the head which would fall would be the managers as "any transfer is a risk" but we not spent much money, I think we have to many people on the business side of the club phoning their job in and getting by on doing as little real work as possible (in some cases because they not at the level needed)

I'm not sure whether we need major surgery or whether we are playing the wrong system for the players we currently have. I can't see Matic getting back to the level he was when we first got him back and he's not being helped currently by playing in this system. I'd love to see Chalobah and Kante play together in midfield.
