Yes, I'm of the same opinion too. Just interested in what others think.
Of course the other thing to consider is whether JT should return to the starting line-up for this game. There are three potential options as I see it. (a) keep the defence as it is (b) JT replaces Cahill (c) JT replaces Azpi in the back 3, with Azpi then replacing Moses as the RWB. As impressive as Moses has been, Conte might decide to be a bit more defensive minded for a big game like this? Personally I'd keep things the same for the time being. I'd be concerned with JT's lack of pace in this formation, and as you say we've just kept a couple of clean sheets for the first time in a while so it wouldn't make much sense to tamper with the defence now. |

Azpi as RWB would be too defensive even for me, and I'm always banging on about keeping it tight at the back. But we have Kante and Matic, moving Moses out or further forward for Azpi would leave us playing with 5 defenders and 2 defensive midfield players. That would really be a belt and braces job.

I would be tempted to just keep a winning team. Maybe Willian for Pedro.
Give JT and others game rime in the EFL Cup. |

So far I'm liking Luiz as the centre of the three directing things.

Liverpool, United, City and Spurs all dropping points whilst we won. Not a bad set of results for us.

Good to see the club are marking the 20 years of the passing of Matthew Harding on Sunday.

The return of the special one and the anniversary of the death of Matthew Harding. This is a big game in all sorts of ways. Looking at the table, a win for either team will make a big psychological difference even if it is only the 9th game of the season.
A win would put us on 19 points, level with Spurs and only a point behind Arsenal and Liverpool. A win for United would take them above us and right back in the mix for a CL spot. I can't see anything else but a very cagey game, both managers are master tacticians and will demand total concentration. I'm a bit worried after watching United last week. I was very impressed with Herrera and Fellaini in midfield. Fellaini may push the boundaries with some of his tackles and use of his elbows, but he gets the job done when he's on form. On the other hand, I thought Daley Blind looked a possible weakness if he's playing. I'm nervous, but looking forward to the game. |

Yeah it's a big game and a win on such a day would be massive.
I imagine a tight sort of game and I suspect an unchanged team. |

A much more open game than I expected, which I suppose is understandable with a goal after only 30 seconds !
Moses has been standout for me, he really does seem to have found his best position as a wing back. United have created a couple of chances though, particularly from down their right wing. Only thing to annoy me was Pedro's booking for "excessive" celebrations after his goal. Ridiculous. |

Hope that one kills it. It was starting to look like United were coming back into it.

Jose, classless right to the end.
It's nice not to try and apologise / excuse him anymore |

Perfect game for us. Couldn't have asked for more from the whole team. Jose didn't seem to have a plan. This formation is working so well for us kinda wish Conte had started the season with it but it's understandable that he wanted to be cautious.
3 clean sheets in a row. Back in the top 4 and only a point of the leaders. Things are looking up |

Just think only a month or so ago it was all gloom and doom. Now only a point off the top.
![]() Excellent performance. Bit fortunate with Luiz and also playing United after them having 3 games in a week. Long way to go but at least decent performances are coming now. |
