We have clearly dealt with this issue in a poor way (even if it's "the way things are done") and as such are going have to take what punishments are coming on the chin. Was it around 3 years ago when this it came to our attention? If so it would have been around the Saville story and fall out would have been at it's hight, Instead of looking at how industries delt poorly with incidents like this and learned from it we went down a similar route. The legal "advice" might have been sound and correct from that point of view but the smallest amount of common sense would have meant we could have controlled the fallout and be proactive instead of the mess we are currently in

Brilliant turnaround in the second half.
Do we accept that we are favourites now? At the very least i don't think Man City are as great as they were expected to be this season. Without signing a defender or 2 in January they will continue to drop points quite often.... ![]() Yes, I think we must be favourites right now. We now have five winnable games before meeting Spurs away on the 4th Jan, so it's in oor hands. It's a pity that the other results this weekend haven't done us any favours (Liverpool look like picking up three points as well) but you can't have everything. Unfortunately, Arsenal looked pretty good in the highlights, and Spurs weren't bad. |

The only saving grace as far as the club is concerned is that it was "historic" abuse and the coach concerned was dead. It's also likely to be only the tip of the iceberg, it wouldn't surprise me if there are very few clubs who aren't named eventually. |

It certainly doesn't reflect well on the club. As you say, we deserve everything we get for putting in a confidentiality clause as part of a compensation agreement. There's no doubt it sounds like "hush money",

Again common sense with the then climate regarding theses cases should have meant we did something, if not why not? This is of course is going to get bigger and bigger but once again it's something as a club we could have controlled to some extent yet because of people behind the scenes not being good enough in their jobs we have allowed other parties to take control. FFS we have had a security guard interrupt a news reporter broadcasting live regarding our comments |

Oh more clubs will be named in the future but how many would have been told x number of years ago like we was?

Ps: Ake better get a chance next season. He had a good season with Watford last year and started most of their games and was their Young player of the Year. I'm surprised we loaned him our immediately and didn't even give him a chance in pre-season. If we had, I think he'd be giving Alonso a good go for that LWB spot. |

Agreed. In this day and age you can't get away with anything and this was always going to come out (and rightly so if it's things like this). Chelsea is a global brand now and the most logical thing would've been to get ahead of it I'm 2014 like you say. I kinda feel like we haven't gotten nearly as much criticism as I would expect for something like this. Is the general public and media waiting until a punishment is dished out or are people being lenient about the club paying off Johnson quietly because the culprits are dead/no longer involved with the club?

I think are more excited about going after The FA rather then a club, They are more "unpopular" then any club and I think most fans know that they jump on one club they are just as likely find their club in the firing line and The FA are a much bigger scalp for the media to go after and one most of their customers dislike so are a much better target for example I think I saw on the news a coach has been found working as part of the first team yet because The FA due to the role being with the first team a check is only "recommend" regardless if it's a legal requirement or recommend if your governing body advises something it's common sense to do it also when recruiting someone in these sort of roles it's just common sense to cover all the bases but the media are going
To blame "The Big Bad" It makes absolutely zero sense. |

Fantastic wasn't it? ☺
Costa has just been tremendous. His hold up play and putting people in on goal have been absolutely fantastic this season. He is the best striker in the league at the moment without a doubt. |

Three games against teams out of the top six. These are games we must win if we want the title this year.

Sunday Mirror reporting points may be deducted as a result of 5th charge for failing to control our players. Could be disastrous in a tight title race.

Settling for 1-0? always dodgy. Tough as expected, job done.

Is that an actual FA rule, or are they just making it up as they go along ?

I only listened to it on the radio, how did we play ? It sounded like a defence v attack training session for most of the game, did they cause us any problems at all ?

We seemed to lack the enthusiasm for quick runs forward. The best of them earned the goal.
Noticed Christine and Frank in the stand. She had " a face on," whenever the camera focused on them, even after the goal. They'd either had a row, or she's miffed at losing any chance of breaking into US TV (if there ever was one) now that Frank has come home. |

Thanks guys. Yes, that's what it sounded like. I was worried when the crowd appeared to be getting impatient, that can often transfer to the players and you end up making a stupid mistake. I was relieved when Costa scored..a great goal by all accconts ? Will have to watch it tonight.

I hope he joins us rather than be Gareth Southgates tea boy, and tarnish his management reputation before it even starts. |
