I really like Dembele. Strong, technical and fast. Was in control of the midfield all night along with Wanyama. Great to see there are no meltdowns in here. We are still in a great position and have got perfect games coming to get us back on track before we go to Anfield.

We were 2nd best tonight. The better team won. No complaints, it happens sometimes.
This is a very competitive league and we can be very proud to have won 13 games in a row. Who really believed at the end of September after drawing with Swansea and getting well beaten by Liverpool & Arsenal that we would now be 5 points clear at the top. Not me! Anybody care to predict Sunday's starting eleven? I haven't got a clue but imagine that Aina, Ivan, JT, Zouma, Chalobah, Loftus-Cheek and Batshuayi will all get some playing time, perhaps Begovic as well and maybe even Kenedy & Ake if they are eligible to play. |

If formation stays the same I'm thinking Musonda - Michy - Willian Fabregas-Chalobah Kenedy/Alonso-Zouma-JT-Ivanovic-Aina Begovic |

Alonso is rumoured to be carrying a knock - I think that's partly why he came off today.
Even if fit, he must be knackered! He's played every game since Arsenal and covers a huge amount of ground. He certainly deserves a rest. I'll be surprised if he does start. |

I'd go with something like: Begovic Azpi, Luiz, Zouma Ivanovic, Chalobah, Matic, Aina Fabregas, RLC Batshuayi Thinking about it. RLC might not play if he's being loaned out as it would cup-tie him. In which case I'd stick Willian in. |

Ake is not back with us (although a few people think we should recall him). I would say Kenedy but the fact that Alonso was substituted suggests he'll start and not sure if Kenedy is even fit. Think we might see a midfield of Chalobah and Fabregas but Kante could still start.

Even though it's against league one opposition I'd be a bit iffy on playing Fabregas and Chalobah together in CM in addition to completely changing the defence, especially if we're giving Zouma a run out after such a long time out. Not sure it would give them enough protection? It's about finding the right balance between resting players that need it but not making so many changes that the team don't gel at all and end up being knocked out of the cup as has happened in the past against the likes of Bradford.

Don't know why they persist in Luiz for free kicks, hes been hopeless at those since he came back, ditto all the long balls out from the back.

Corners were very poor last night too. They were nearly all wasted by being taken short or not even beating the first defender. |

Can have no complaints about the result, They was by far the better team.
It was always going to be the toughest game as they are team that our system and personal suits perfectly. At least it ends all the nonsense the media has been bleating about these last few weeks with regards to this "record", It was nothing more then a distraction and was all very "Arsenal" for me. With the current lead of 5 points and some very interesting fixtures coming up (Utd Vs Liverpool,City Vs Spurs,Us vs Liverpool and some might put Everton vs City in the mix) that lead is likely to increase. The talk of the record and winning the title needs to be put on the back burner and instead we need to be carrying on the rebuilding project, We are slowly moving out players that we no longer need and bringing in replacements, Think we need at least one big signing in Jan (defender would be my choice) to continue the work yes its a nearly impossible task due to the market and lack of willingness to do major deals in the Jan window but we need to have people who can do nearly impossible jobs We have the manager who can 100% do the job and do something that really SAF has done in the premier league with regards to bringing real long term success to the club. We are further ahead then we should be but that should not mean we can rest on that, It has to mean we push it even more. |

Agreed about the freekicks though. If Fabregas is not on the pitch then we are hopeless at them. Willian doesn't seem like the same player who was scoring them for fun last season. Alonso actually seems to be decent at them and should be given more chances. |

Alonso should take more free-kicks. Very unlucky not to score from his only attempt for us against Palace.
He can take them over on the left side too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnd4fKm9O9U |
