Wake up!!

Not looking good at the moment, they look much stronger physically in midfield. The ref is letting a lot of stuff go as well, a few tasty tackles going in out there.

Another awful tackle on ramires.

City obviously have instructions to rough us up a bit - and its working. The ref is not protecting our players.

We just have to let them run out of energy.

I think city are the only team capable of bullying us.

* Edit - absolutely awful ref today, some terrible tackles going in.

To be fair, we used to be pretty good at that ourselves. You didn't see Mourinho's Chelsea of old outmuscled by anyone. He won't like what he's seeing now, but it's hard to see what he can do about it. Maybe bring on Mikel as you said previously ?
Unfortunately, Yaya Toure looks to be back near his awesome best.

We are looking to go in at 0-0.

Clearly, as has been observed by the commentary team, City have been set up to stop us physically, and the ref has allowed them to do so.

Some terrible tackles going in, most (but not all) from city.

We look tired after chasing the ball, and I think we will do well to keep it to a draw at the moment, I hope Jose can counter this. I would take a 0-0 right now.

When we have had chance to break which were few have then been far to wasteful, especially Willian.
Far too many yellow cards, hard to see the game ending with 11 a side..
Were blown away by City for a lot of that half , hope for better things in the second.

Settled down a bit in the last ten minutes though. They have four players on yellow cards, we have two. I'm hoping we've weathered the storm, and perhaps now we can let our football do the talking. I don't think we'll go 90 minutes without seeing something from Hazard, Fabregas or Costa.

I think we will see mikkel on for either ram or willian.

Perhaps schurrle at some point.

Wouldn't say so, the referee has been spot on so far, completely fair. Some Chelsea players getting bullied in fairness, not sure some are cut out for this league in all honesty with the rate they've been bullied.

/end Codeblue mode.

Chelsea has to start showing some aggression, City is controlling too much

I don't think so, they have all proven themselves in the PL. Fabregas didn't have problems with Arsenal, Willian and Ramires can take care of themselves, Hazard isn't a physical player but that's not what he's there for. We just haven't got the likes of Essien, Ballack, Makelele or Lampard any more. We've got less power in midfield for sure, but I think they're all more than capable of playing in the PL.

They are really trying to get costa riled - zabaletta had to go.

the ref has let him off a few times.

Schurrel!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an important goal that could be from schurrle

Hazard to schurrle and a great goal.

In the build up, city absolutely clattered our player and that should have been another red card.

Yes, he was on a yellow card, for a player of his experience there's just no excuse.

Goal ! Superb break as well, excellent work by Costa and a great cross by Hazard.

Not frank!!!

Makes me laugh, players trying to wind-up Costa. Don't they realise he's had three years of that, he's one of the best wind-up merchants in the business himself, he thrives on it.

Oh no not Lampard, if he scores I think I'll cry.

Lampard comes on against us!

Gets a standing ovation from our away support. (lets just hope he doesnt score)

"super frank" rings out from our own fans!

Why bring on Drogba ? We still had the 11 v 10 advantage, now we're just holding on.

Ufffff frank scoring is a real kick in the teeth, just shows we should never have let him leave! Don't see the harm in keeping him for 6 months till he went to new York!

A draw is better than a loss all things considered but this should have been a win.

An odd jose move - i guess its to play against the big defenders of city and hold the ball up. Perhaps a mobile remy would have been better.

Anyway, its all over now.

I feel disappointed that we didnt win, but until the sending off and the goal from schurrle I thought we would be lucky to get a draw.

When we went in front, Jose did not change the team or the way we were playing. That was probably the mistake - we should have changed things.

Still, a draw is a good result - it will definitely be our hardest game of the season. Other games have gone our way this weekend with our rivals dropping points (bar arsenal).

Frank didnt know what to do at the end - he went to the chelsea supporters who applauded him off the pitch. Class all round.
