Couldnt have gone much better after the Sunderland draw, i was actually nervous about this game but comfortable in the end.

Look pretty unstoppable at home at the moment, Newcastle away could be tricky however. Need to keep our momentum up, City look to be picking up steam and if we drop 3 points now they are right back in it.

Yes, we were flattered by the score line, but it was a very important 3 points.

Man City have Everton at home on Saturday, followed by a lovely run of fixtures (for them)..Leicester (a), Crystal Palace (h), West Brom (a), Burnley (h), Sunderland (h).
I could see them getting maximum points from those six games, the pressure is building now.

We are really showing how far the level of the league has fallen over the last few years that we can play well for 20 minutes in games and come away with a really good win.

Really think Spurs are in trouble, They have always been their own worst enemy but although they had their chances in the first twenty mintutes they just never to looked like a team that knew how to get something out of the game.

Yep Spurs have made no progress at all under Pochettino, they seem to be as much of a soft touch as usual. I wonder if Levy regrets not giving AVB longer now, because they haven't been any better off with the two managers since?

I dont know if its the manager or the way Levy runs the club.

Some part of me thinks the problem is Levy

Probably a mixture of both, as you say. Certainly from a team selection point-of-view, continuing to pick players such as Lennon who clearly contribute very little won't help.

I wanted to criticize Lennon when I saw their line-up last night, but if I had he would have scored a hat-trick....(bad enough that he actually put in 1 successful cross) For all the money they've spent they have such an incredibly bland team.

I see from the media today that United are looking to spend another £100 to £150 million to get a world class player in every position.

It feels good to already have that at chelsea.

I wouldnt swap any of our players for any other in the league at the moment.

Courtois? No
Ivan? No
Terry? No
Cahill? No
Azpi/ Luis? No
Matic? No
Fabregas? No
Oscar? No
Hazard? No
Willian? No
Costa? No

We could argue that Aguero is a better player than Costa, but i think DC suits our team better - and he has had a fantastic start.

I'd take Aguero, Toure and Kompany. Not necessarily to replace anyone we've got, but they would be useful.

I wouldn't want Aguero. He might be a good player but I just don't like the guy - he's got a real nasty streak to him. Toure and Kompany would be welcome to sit on our bench though.

Aguero's got a 'nasty streak'? More so than Costa?

Since when?

Yes, more so than Costa in my opinion. I don't mind a bit of feistiness in a player, but I think it goes beyond that with Aguero and him stamping on opponents. The odd time you could give him the benefit of the doubt but having seen him do it a few times now it's enough to make up my mind that I don't like the guy.

Big test today without Matic. Not feeling very confident to be honest.

We should still be able to win without him, with a full strength 10 + Mikkel

A deserved result. Against Tottenham, Chelsea were quick, efficient and clinical. Today they were too slow and too sloppy in and around the Newcastle box. Costa was poor, and maybe Mourhino should have stuck with Remy, although it's easy to say with hindsight.

I would have brought Costa off today after around 6o mins. It wasn't his day. I also think Ramires could have done a good job, although Mikel had a solid game.

Newcastle were overly physical at times, but Chelsea played into their hands with slow football.
