Great goal, what a finish this is going to be!

Ivanovic really does have a knack of popping up with important goals. Great to be in another Cup final.

Hope Fabregas is ok for Saturday though.

Great game, not sure that playing 120 mins and losing Cesc is so good though.
Got to love Costa, always up for a challenge. I don't think Liverpool fans can complain considering who their star player used to be and what he got up too.

Costa is a monster, Yes he walks the line (and crosses it many times) but he has the mentality we have been lacking for awhile now.

Very tough game but well won.

Looked like Fabregas injury was only precaution. No need to risk him before the big match against City. Chelsea was very aggressive in the 2nd half of play. If we played like that in the 1st leg we would have had that match in the bag. Positive is we have a chance to win our first trophy of the season and now we can focus on going 8 pts up on City Saturday.

It will probably be a Chelsea v Tottenham final, and I doubt that Mourhino will lose out the way Avram Grant did when Chelsea lost to Tottenham in their last League cup final.

A trophy is a trophy, and if Chelsea can beat Man city this weekend, the PL could follow. Come on the Chels'!

It was a very good game, and Liverpool played well. Hazard was often the difference yet again, and if there had been better link up play between the forwards in and around the penalty area, the win could have been more comfortable.

Liverpool set the pace to be fair, and it caused both teams to snatch at chances.

I agree with Mourhino about some football pundits. There's far too many ex Liverpool players working as pundits, and there's a lot of bias. Stamps by Costa?! If he had stamped on either occasion, the opposition player would have been stretchered off. If it had been a Liverpool player who had possibly intentionally trod on another player, no doubt there would have been no malice involved.

Pundits should be impartial, and if they can't do that, they shouldn't be working as pundits or commentators.

While I don't like the many of them on TV it's sort of understandable. They will want former players who are well known and they was a big team in those days. Chelsea will have less players involved as many of ours was never really big names and when we started attracting big names they was not English which shouldn't be a barrier but it can be when it's a choice between them and a English speaker.

Will it change going forward? Who knows but due to the big money earned it's unlike many will.

Good point, and in the '70's, especially the '80's and the early '90's Liverpool were huge. I've got no problem with Mark Lawrenson who makes some good comments but some of the others are just talking as Liverpool fans. There were some good English Man Utd players back then especially from the '90's, and some good Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham players. A bit of balance. What about Wisey?

Wisey has done some and he not bad but did not really win anything big enough to give the media what they looking for and Arsenal players could have been used some of the English guys have had issues which keep them from getting high profile media jobs.

Utd players have mostly gone on to management etc

Having ex-Chelsea players isn't necessarily a good thing either, Andy Townsend being a case in point.

Costa looking at a 3 match ban, so he and Fabregas will both be missing the weekend.

Brilliant.

If thats the case, id settle for a point, I expect most of us would. Costa was never going to get away with an "Accidental stamp" for ever!

Let's not fall into Sky and the media's attempt to overhype this game, Win or Lose both teams will still be able to win (or lose) the title. There are 3 points at stake and that's it. Yea be good to pick our first team but we knew when we bought Costa he would miss games though suspension

Looks like the Cuadrado deal is close to being finalised:

A good deal imo, and eligible for the CL.

There's no point in keeping Salah who looks very average when he plays and Schurrle doesn't look comfortable in the PL. Cuadrado looks like real competition for Willian, and is good at beating players. That's an option that Chelsea need. Competition for places.

In the summer, it'll be another striker to compete with Costa imo plus Bamford recalled from loan. Drogba to move into coaching at the club?

Courtois; Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry (c), Azpilicueta; Ramires, Matic; Willian, Oscar, Hazard; Remy

Cech, Cahill, Christensen, Ake, Loftus-Cheek, Brown and Drogba

That bench!

Yeah, some game to give youth a chance! No Mikel (understandable), Schurrle (about to leave?) and Salah (useless?). Ake's good and Zouma is playing very well.

Come on the Chels'!

A deserved result. Zouma was very good again, and is playing a lot better than Cahill was, although no doubt Cahill is still a very good player. Ramires is approaching his best form and Remy scored a vital goal. Not bad for squad players!

Matic brilliant, and motm imo.

Chelsea allowed the concentration to drop that little bit after they scored, and that was all city needed. Still good for the title though.

A draw isnt a bad result for us, lead is still intact and i think today was more about not losing than going out and securing a win.

Players look tired, i think the lack of rotation and squad depth is hurting us at the moment, and ofcourse missing Costa and Fabregas. Our bench just showed that our squad probably isnt big enough, missing Salah and Schrulle as well to give us a bit of depth.

Overall, the performance wasnt great and City were the better side on the day, but we are still top.

Happy with a draw. Players looked very jaded.
