Forgot to post my bets.. Plenty of losers so far.. Had a big 12 team acca which lost after the 2nd game, and a dual forecast of all the groups which was a disaster!

But from start of tournament that are still running...

Winner
Argentina - 4/1

Winner/Top scorer
Argentina/Karim Benzema - 200/1

Benzema top France scorer - 2/1
Dzeko top Bosnia scorer - 7/4
double

Iran no goalscorer - 100/30

Also on the acca of Argentina, Germany and Bosnia for tonight.

They did though didn't they. I highly doubt big betters would have been settling for the straight win at 1/8

I'm not a big better but I reckon most people would have had Argentina in an accumulator

COME ON GERMANY!!!

Most big betters would have been backing argentina to win on handicapped goals. Sod all point in 1/8

You'd think big betters would know better, they mustn't have seen Irans first game

Doesn't matter how well they set up or how their defence is. Argentina were expected to beat them and beat them comfortably. Todays performance by argentina made brazils performance against mexico look good

I'm on Italy to win the World Cup @ 25/1.
Also done Uruguay outright too @ 25/1.
Thinking about USA to beat Portugal tomorrow night, think the Portuguese are a busted flush, similar to Spain.

One thing I've realised from this tournament in terms of betting is that if the 1st group match is between the two favourites of the group, then the loser will not qualify for the last 16.

Group A - Brazil and Croatia were favourites, Croatia lost and are out.
Group B - Spain and Netherlands, Spain lost and are out.
Group D - Although not favourites, but close anyway, England v Italy, England lost and our out
Group F - Argentina and Bosnia, Bosnia lost and are out.
Group G - Germany and Portugal, Portugal lost and look likely to be knocked out.

My tip for next time - with group forecasts etc is to look at the first fixture and if two fave teams are playing and you think one will lose then bet on them to not qualify either. Take the Croatia v Mexico game yesterday, Mexico already had the points on the board and played the perfect counter attacking game. If Croatia had played Cameroon in the first game then maybe they would have come into this game ahead of Mexico and played counter attacking footy themselves.

Interesting. For tournaments in Latin America, if there's two Latin American teams in a group, then betting on them to get out of it is certainly worthwhile. I've said before, if you look back at 1970, 1978 and 1986, Latin Americans team generally did very well in the group stages. Only El Salvador failed to get out of their group in 1970. Only Mexico failed to in 1978. All teams got out in 1986. This year, 6 are out of their groups with another 2 (Uruguay, Ecuador) having a decent chance. Only Honduras is unlikely to make it. I should have done an accumulator bet!!

Add USA to that also, who play in the Latin American part of qualifiers and there's another team who should qualify.

Initially I thought the climate wouldn't affect the teams but it looks as though quite a few European teams are heading home at the expense of Latin American teams so maybe it does play a part. Costa Rica have benefited from playing at 5.00pm our time, both Uruguay and Italy have looked shattered going into the later stage of the game. Uruguay played their warm up games in bitter cold temperatures in Uruguay.

I have

World Cup 2014 Outrights Netherlands - Winner 33/1 x £5.00 =£170.00

World Cup 2014 Outrights Italy/Neymar - Winner & Golden Boot Double 500/1 x £5.00 = £2505.00

World Cup 2014 Outrights Belgium - Winner - 22/1 x £ 10.00 = £230.00

So still in with a shout on the above , how realistic they are we will see

I had £1.76 left in my account so I put it on Aston Villa @ 1000/1 to win the EPL of course that has no chance but what can you buy for £1.76 ATM

You can buy that 99p burger they keep advertising on TV!! . Hard luck on the Italy/ Neymar punt. After the first round of games that looked possible.

Had that money back on losing bets if Saurez bites someone. Just hope Paddy Power honour it.

I've got a few combos, including Germany/Neymar 90/1 and France/Neymar 300/1 quite excited about that one

Looking at Colombia. 22/1 with Paddy Power. They've not really been tested yet I guess and they lost 4 of their best players pre tournament apparently. But it could be time for a new winner!!

Is the USA v Germany game the shoo-in for a draw that it appears ?

it's 2/1 which is slightly less odds you normally get for a draw but not as low as I expected (thought it may be 6/4 )

I don't think this will end up in a draw. Germany will be keen to get back in winning mode after being shocked by Ghana. And when the Americans are put to the sword they seem to go all out. I think a 3-2 type result is more likely.

If USA only lose by one, they will probably be ok, as Portugal need a big swing. You never know, though.

I assume Belgium must be playing a weak team against South Korea as they are 10/11 to win the game seems an incredible price

Close.
I had 7 and 8 timers for the groups, but only got 6 right.

Had portugal and italy instead of the winners. Could never have picked costa rica though. Except for holland, all the favourites won anyway.
