World Cup Group H
This group is the 2nd group of life.
Belgium are playing in their first world cup in a while but a very impressive qualifying campaign has made them dark horses in a lot of people's books. South Korea, hard to call how they'll play, but a recent hammering by Ghana won't do much for their confidence, Algeria will be the outsiders but they can't be completely counted out. Then there's Russia, will they get booed by pretty much anyone who isn't a Russian, it's hard to see politics not coming into it when it comes to Russia |

Another nice open group, there seems to be a lot of them this year. A nice spread of good teams but not as hard to predict as Groups D or G.
Belgium - everyone's favourite topic of discussion in the "dark horse" debate, yes, but not without good reason. Fellaini has proved himself amply in league football and there are plenty of other strong faces in the team. A decent group with no major run-ins is exactly what they need. First place should be in Belgium's grasp, but it might not quite be a 9 point finish. Russia - always an interesting team, never quite achieving what one would expect. As stated by others, Russia are going to have issues on the international scene that other teams won't, and morale is going to be low. Still, focussing on the football, there's little to stop them beating Algeria and going for draws with Belgium and South Korea at the very least. South Korea - they've had a dodgy time of it lately and they do tend to choke a bit once they reach the tournament itself, but this is a good set of teams for South Korea. They can definitely achieve victory against Algeria, and I think there are two draws waiting to be gained from their other two matches. This could put things down to goal difference between South Korea and Russia, and I would envision South Korea having more success on that front than Russia. A narrow passage out of the groups is my prediction. Algeria - Definitely the outsider of the group, and a team that always struggles to convert potential into points. I sadly can't see them gaining any of the latter in a group that's going to be very competitive and where the other three teams all have everything to play for. It's possible that they will get a few points out of Russia or South Korea, but this is as much as they can hope for barring a significant upset. Predictions: Belgium - 7 South Korea - 5 Russia - 4 Algeria - 0 |

The one thing I disagree with is that morale is going to be low in the Russian squad. I think the opposite is the case - they want to show the world how great they are and each player was probably promised a million dollars to make the Round of 16
They are, however, rubbish, so probably won't get further.

The obvious 2 here are Belgium and Russia, but I don't think much of Russia at the moment. I'd imagine the Algeria and Korea will be fancying their chances.

I see Russia and Korea play each other first, that could be pretty much be a knockout game if we're expecting to Algeria to do very little and Belgium to win the group
