I dip into and out of Corrie, but have caught most of the last four weeks due to the impending death of ronseal (I like reading digital spy soap forum). I haven't noticed it mentioned though, a few weeks ago he was trying to get around seeing her, and I have seen all the proposal/non proposal filler stuff, but he seems to be right up for it now... if so why ??

Is there something I have missed, some reasoning behind it... I assumed when he talked about going away for the weekend, that would end up being where the stag party he wanted to go to was, but that hasn't been mentioned again and he was offered the chance to go, but chose to help her clean the house, have the writers given him a personality transplant as Kevin Webster was written out again or have I missed the point in the episodes

It was an "accidental" proposal; 'Maddeh' saw him in Weatherfield outside a Jewellers, put two and two together and got 10.

Tim was buying a watch for Faye. They went to the Bistro together and asked one another what they'd say if they proposed to one another... Despite it being obvious they'd both say "no" Tim asked Sally regardless and bought her a cheap ring from Barlow's Buys.

However:
Spoiler

Hope that helps?

Hi, thanks for the info... I saw all of what happened in your response, I was just wondering why he seems right into it now, buying rings, getting her opera cd's etc. It's like he is bending over backwards for her now, and before he was always trying to not spend time with her

Where's OJ?

Why hasn't OJ read and commented on this yet??

I'm saying nothing on the subject till OJ's given her opinion.

Sorry Unc - I was busy adding my profound insights on the BB thread, but since you ask, I think Tim is so laid back he doesn't care either way as long as gets to keep enjoying Sally's bedroom expertise, with regular chippy teas and a few tinnies thrown in.

Thank goodness for that, I thought for one minute you'd buggered off to the BB section for good.
Seduced no doubt by that dripping in sexiness Cesar fella, or whatever the blazes he's called this year.
You feckless hussy you.

If that ever happened, then I'm afraid I'd be off to the Advice section to dish out my half-arsed encouragements full time, you'd leave me with no other choice.

As it is I can relax, I think, safe in the knowledge that we both agree that Tim doesn't really much care.
So long as he can get Sal to commit, not that I truly believe he wants her to, he just wants to safeguard his regular warm bed and egg-an-chips of a night.
I think he's more scared of punchy-Kev returning and wooing her to be honest.

I think he quite likes drilling her too, truth be told.

Although he's not best chuffed with her lazy-eyed daughter who's not really interested, the nosey cow just wants a ringside seat.

Advice Section? You? And there was me looking for you in the Fashion & Beauty Section.

Sadly there is no sex-dripping eye candy for me in BB this year - just a lot of drips.
I thought Ash might be 'the one' on first sight, but turns out he was just 'the kn*b'.

I am liking Tim a lot these days, but he'll have to watch out Sally doesn't end up treating him like Foldy-Arms does poor Steve. He just wanted a quiet life too.

Don't worry, this bad penny always turns up.

But if you've got a death wish, yes, good idea - go start an Ali Spencer Appreciation thread.

I'm back home now Sweetheart.
Me & Tills drove back this morning.

Coming off at Gloucester (to avoid the Severn Bridge Tolls) this song came on the radio that I liked.
'Every Day Hurts' by Sad Café.
I started singing it to Tills, to let her know how much her old Da loved her, when I ran straight into the back of this blurt in a 4x4.
I thought he'd pulled away.

So I got home and had to tell her indoors about my 90th motoring accident.
You can guess the rest.

He wants to get married because he thinks it's what Sally wants.

I think it's supposed to be one of Corrie's famed "comedy" storylines that have been missing the mark so much lately. Neither of them want to, and I bet they call the whole thing off andf shuffle along as-is.

For the record that's my take on it as well. He's realised he's onto quite a good thing and wants to safe guard it. There might also have been a slight aspect of wounded pride when he started to think she was planning on saying no so pressed the issue but they very much just fell into it.

Sally could never be as vile as foldy arms. She's a bit of a snob but her heart is in the right place.

Agreed. She'll just spend her time insisting he wears his best shirt and tie when he's cleaning windows, so he doesn't show her up.

Did she put or even try the engagement ring on? There was a moment where she showed someone the ring in it's box. What's the point of the ring if she's not wearing it? Also as it's bought from Barlows Buys they will have to pay a jeweller to make it sized to fit. I wonder if they will actually do so.
Also they haven't said much about the actual wedding ha ha.
