World Cup. Predict the Four Quarter Finals
Always an interesting one as reliant on a lot of factors.
Whatever way I look at this, a few surprise sides crop up. If you can get two spot on, you've done very well. I'll go for: Chile V Ivory Coast Ecuador V Portugal Spain V Uruguay Argentina V Germany |

Interesting these - assuming that people have worked out that they are possible. Some good looking ties. My Argentina V Germany relies on Portugal winning the group.

I worked it out earlier
Brazil Columbia France Portugal Holland Italy Argentina Germany and its a Portugal, Holland final at 470/1 (yes, Portugal do win the group!) and Netherlands v Spain is a real crunch match, because the losers probably get Brazil in the last 16. |

here is mine:
France v Germany Brazil v Italy Argentina v Portugal Spain v England Yes, i think England may squeeze out of their group at the expense of Uruguay So, i had England v Columbia in the last 16 match It could benefit them, to be runners up in their group |

I've just filled in my predictor form and it turned out like this:
Brazil v (head says Colombia, misguided heart says England) Spain v Uruguay France v Germany Argentina v Portugal |

France v Germany Spain v Uruguay Argentina v Belgium France and Argentina both have piss easy runs to the quarters so should be there assuming they both win their easy groups and don't play each other in last 16. I then think it will be 2 of Germany, Belgium and Portugal. 2 of Brazil, Spain, Netherlands. Then its any 2 of Columbia, Uruguay, Italy and dare I say England. (I've gone with the South American advantage here) Dark horses could be Chile and Ivory Coast. I'm going Argentina to win overall as they look to have an easier route to the final than Brazil and less pressure/expectation. Not long to go now!

I would also go with this based on the draw.

This tournament might have come a bit too early for Belgium, I'm looking foward to see them play though. It should be Brazil or Argentina with the South American advantage, but nearly every World Cup comes up with a team that surprises everybody, even if they don't go on to win it.

Brazil vs Uruguay
France vs Portugal Chile vs England Argentina vs Germany My eventual winners would be Argentina, beating Brazil 2-1 in the final. Which is good because I have Argentina in my work sweepstake. I had England lose 1-0 to Chile. |

Brazil v England
![]() Ecuador v Portugal Spain v Côte d'Ivoire Argentina v Belgium (I have a sneaky feeling that Germany won't turn up) That would give a Brazil v Portugal and Spain v Argentina semis and the Brazil v Argentina final that we all would like to see. |
