ive been thinking about this a lot and Michelle Fowler has so many links to Albert Square would it be a good idea to recast the role and have her return with a husband,Vicki and Mark Jnr it would bring new life to the Fowler Clan and Ian,Dot and Sharon would be glad to have her around.I think this could work seeing as its been 20 years since Michelle left and Susan Tully no longer acts and who would you like to see cast as Michelle

Not for me personally as original Michelle was so memorable. I do wish they could persuade Sue back.

She's a director isn't she?

Forget Michelle, even though she was a legend. Get rid of the Scarlett Pimpernel, Martin Fowler. His absence in Sonia's scenes is now becoming a joke on par with Where's Wally?

Its ridiculous isn't it. I'm expecting her to wake up tomorrow with a box of Milk Tray on her pillow, cooing to Bianca, "Martin left them for me - E does luv me really, oooh look there's Tina wearing a tutu!"

Are we sure Martin hasn't run off with Sonia's lesbian lover Naomi?

Naaah, lovely Naomi is shacked up with Minty. Martin is living with Jamie Mitchell's ghost.

The irony. Does Phil know? Or even Kym Marsh/Ryder/Lomas???

No. I'm not in favour of a recast as Michelle was an iconic character of her era. I'd love it if Sue Tully would return but unfortunately I don't see it happening anytime following her comments regarding a possible return.

Michelle hasn't come back for any of her families "events" so I'd object a recast tbh because I think that they could have done that for when her mum or brother passed away. It's all or nothing where Michelle is concerned now, I want Sue Tully to return or not at all. A return for the character needs to be special and if Sue Tully does return I want them to explain why Michelle has never made the effort before.

Extreme, bone shaking, jaw dropping, hair tearing, garment rending fear of flying?
Giant family size Oreo bag induced obesity so she couldnt fit in the plane seats?
Extreme couponing to the max - no point in paying for an air fare til all the remaining Fowlers need visiting in the graveyard?
Existential angst?

It would have to be more than a throw away line to make me happy!

It would have to be something special I agree!

3 funerals missed! Even a few Wicksy type scenes would have been nice. Or Tracey wearing a Sue Tully face mask.

No! The problem is that the actresses who played Michelle and sharon really were best friends IRL. I don't think they could fake it after that, bearing in mind the way they've hashed up sharon and phil despite over 20 years of scenes together. ..

I can't come to the funeral because I banged my little toe on the door frame, I'm rushing to the hospital as we speak!

Puts phone down,

Skips merrily to dinner!

Yes, I would have been ok with them saying she was running late and would be at the cemetery later than everyone, had asked if the Mitchells were still there and had gone back early and left the audience to fill in the gaps. Better than pretending she doesnt exist!

I'm also annoyed that Martin lives so close for Sonia to pop in every so often but even he couldn't be arsed to go to Lucys funeral and we didn't get an explanation as to why. Maggie who I don't think ever met Lucy (or if so it was briefly) sent flowers and Martin didn't even have the grace to do that.

It is pretty poor. EE pees me off when they miss out details like that. Martin wasnt totally insensitive. Also was Steven mentioned at all?

Steven was pretty close to Lucy, nearly forgotten about him!

I don't recall him being mentioned. I can see why they wouldn't want him to return, but maybe a little scene where Peter wants to track Steven down to tell him but Ian puts the kybosh on it could have been good. It's a shame he seems to be forgotten about.
