I have a Samsung Galaxy S 3 phone and I'm with T Mobile. I want to set up roaming on it. I have called 150 to find out if it is set up and found I'm not set up. But trying to find how to set it up is so hard I've given up. Anyone know how to set up please? Thanks.

You do not really have to DO anything!

You take a phone abroad and turn it on.....it will find and connect to an appropriate foreign phone network if T-Mobile have enabled roaming. Only THEY can do this!

Someone will be along soon to warn about turning data off - BUT this does not really apply to T-Mobile as you cannot use it without buying a "data bundle" -per-megabyte data is NOT available! Data bundles can ONLY be purchased from abroad and any attempt to use data will cause them to send a text message with costs and instructions.

Just call 150 and select the option for technical support and then ask for roaming to be enabled on your account. You will need to speak to someone to do this.

What do you think you mean by 'roaming'? Where are you going?

He's going to Turkey, see other threads. He or she basically just needs to ask customer services to enable roaming on his or her account.

BKM has given the answer.....I'm with Tmobile (sim only) and when abroad the phone roams without any need for me to get them to allow roaming. As said already the data isn't an issue either as Tmobile won't give any data until you buy a data roaming bundle/booster. It's one of the useful aspects of Tmobile that you can't run up a large data roaming bill because you have to buy a predefined data bundle on first arrival (or don't)

Thanks all actually I'm going to Berlin now. I may not need to actually set my roaming up as Berlin has 44 free public wi fi hot spots in most of the tourist places. And there is an app I can down load to help me with this. And my hotel's wi fi is expensive and is said to be rather slow. But they allow free wi fi in public areas of the hotel like down at reception. People sit around there and use it. So hopefully that will do for me.

That depends when you took the contract out, and if you had a high enough credit score to pre qualify for international roaming. Non sim-only contracts and those through resellers like CPW may be different.

She has already established that roaming is not enabled on her account, so she will need to get it enabled through customer service. This is a one time thing.

It's a 2 second job, I cannot believe there have been so many threads about one person going abroad.
