Yes we are talking about Rooney making a total hash of simple basic stuff.

Did you see that unbelievably terrible corner from him near the end?

no, he cheated on his wife, and knew it waa about to hit the tabloids, so he was walking around like a bear with a sore head during 2010
I asked about 2012, I know he was injured for 2010.

In the ten minutes following that, two other England players made complete hashes of crosses (albeit not corners), from that same side of the pitch, skying them into the stands - I think it may have been Gerrard and Johnson, but don't quote me on that. No-one seems to have mentioned these though.

I've just seen a newspaper headline describing Rooney's corner as the worst ever.

It was really, really, really "special". Probably even worse than any cock ups from him 4 years ago.

Sterling skied a cross from that part of the pitch shortly after Rooney's corner, not a mention, except from Phil Neville who questioned the state of the pitch.

Looks like it's just you, me (above although I said Gerrard & Johnson as I wasn't sure) and Phil Neville

Does everyone who critisises Rooney need to qualify their statement by mentioning every other player who has done something wrong in an England shirt?

I see Hodgson wants to Rooney to get into the box more. I think that was an admission playing him out wide didn't quite work rather then a critisism of Rooney. Hopefully that means a more central role against Uruguay. I'm still confident he can have a big World Cup.

The obsessive Rooney-bashing is getting a little tiresome now.

Gerrard and Johnson have been getting plenty of flak over their performances mind.

Pat Crerand has just been bleating at how the awful media has been crucifying their Wayne. The usual paranoia.

The BBC reported that Rooney has had a go back at the press on his Facebook page. He would be better off keeping his head down and concentrate on finding some form really. Criticism goes with the territory of being a big name sports star.

Typical of overpaid footballers completely divorced from reality.

He's clarified his training in the face of the press screaming EXCLUSIVE! ROO IS WITH DA RESERVES LOL

None of it is typical, divorced from reality or anything to do with wages.

You can't expect clueless berks to understand nuances like this, I'm afraid.
