No, too early to write sweeping conclusions but this team is aging. Non-existent defence, poor attackers.

I remember when Spain were perennial under-achieving bottlers, I hope this signals a return to those days.

And Blind will be the player of the tournament. Nailed. (Hopefully)

Arrogance and complacency are the worst mistakes you can make in the World Cup, and Spain are highly guilty of both. That team needs serious work, completely back to the drawing board on all eleven, a total re-think. They're out of the running now as far as I'm concerned.

It's not just the magnitude of the beating or the manner of the beating that is so shocking it's the way it all happened in the second half when Spain looked pretty good in the first half. Up until the equaliser i was thinking Spain were going to run out comfortable winners.

Could and should have been more. Holy hell Spain.

I did think that the Torres miss summed him up more than Spain though.

Looking forward to seeing Chile as I said. They're meant to be exciting and could really be a threat to get through now. Spain have to buck up their ideas.

Great warm up match before the mighty Aussies show us their stuff.

Thought at 1 - 0 Oranje would hold the game and try for an equaliser late on....no point in busting a gut at this stage.

However, if you can tot up a nice little five (and it should have been eight) then that's saying, "hello, we're Oranje, remember us?".

But in all honesty, Spain are past it, and apart from Robben, Van P and Wesley, it's a very young Oranje.

think they said Casillas was something like 15 minutes away from setting a record for time without conceding a goal in world cup finals as well , think he might have missed that

wtf were those defenders and goal keeper doing? all over the place. they looked so so amateur like a team that has never played a match in their life.

Wow. Was really looking forward to this match and it didn't disappoint. Van Persie and Robben just astonishing.

I watched the first half, but then missed most of the second, but just saw the last 15 and the highlights. Reminded me a bit of 2 england germany games.

5-1 england, when Germany missed chances to go 2-1 up.
4-1 germany, when lampard scoring would have made all the difference.

So without the Casillas error, maybe spain dont panic, and you dont get a landslide. Spain looked very comfortable in the first half.

But wasn't that because the Dutch took a cagey counter-attacking approach and only started to really cut loose in the second half?
