That was my 1st impression, but he did, just.

We have a decent ref for this one (so far).

Makes the Sneijder miss early on seem all the more important now.

Two penalties, two cases of the goalkeeper going the right way and getting a hand to it but not keeping it out.

Cillessen was more unlucky than Pletikosa was last night, though.

He didn't touch him.

Questionable refereeing at this World Cup so far.

Costa made a meal out of it.

And a latte.

Can see why it was given, Costa played for it but defender shouldn't have left his foot there.

Never a penalty for me. Costa's flung his leg right out of his natural stride, and if anything he's caught De Vrij, not the other way around.

It was an accident. Not a penalty

Nice to see Spain resort to cheating as always. Absolute dive.

Costa was clever there, not really much contact at all.

Very minimal contact, Costa knew exactly what he was doing keeping his leg out.

GLT confirms the pen was scored!

Looking at the replays, there was contact - so the penalty call was understandable, but Costa over-egged minimal contact. Players can't take these kind of risks in the penalty box - players will dive, especially in this tournament.

Does Lawrenson do anything but moan?

What an annoying t**t

Lets face it,,if we get a pen tomorrow with Sturridge going down like that, we won't be too unhappy

Mark Lawrenson right on something.

They really only need to show the GLT if they actually question it. No need to show it off.

This Goal Line Technology replay thing is getting a bit old now FIFA, we get the message, let's just leave it to where it's needed from now on.

Costa cleverly stood on the Defenders legs that was passing by as he new his opponents momentum would take his leg with him

In quick time you can't blame the ref for this, he made absolutely the right decision for me, but it looks very dodgy when slowed down and zoomed in

He didnt even keep it there. His foot had already come away then he put it BACK. Never a penalty despite the contact.

Very clever from him and conned the ref totally.
