Since Monday there has been a data problem in the greater Belfast area where sitting in a 5 bar signal area data will stop and the phone will go to no bars than in a bout 5 to 10 seconds restore back to full. This continues at random intervals. Seems worst about 1800 is but can't be 100% sure on this. If course calling 3 and reporting this is totally useless. I keep being told that the have checked the masts and everything is fine. We'll of course it is at the time they check. It's not just me either - I checked with the local 3 shop who said loads of people were having this.

Any ideas anyone?

Sort of thing that goes on before an upgrade to 4G so keep your figures crossed.

Lol. Yes just one post I'm over a year but been lurking reading stuff nearly every day

As far as I know we are all mbnl'd here and 3 tell me that there is no work going on. But then they probably don't know the real story. The customer communication is appalling.

I would guess CS haven't even bothered to look the correct system for information when you have been speaking to them.
There is still old 3 kit being swapped out, not all sites have had the full MBNL upgrades for 3G yet.
Can you narrow down the area a little more? I know yesterday there were a number of outages in the east of the city, connswater, Sydenham, ballyhackamore.
