I've just actually cottoned on to the fact that it may well be fine me continually crafting warp cells and jumping, but it'll take me over 450 jumps to actually get to the centre so i think there's got to be a better way

Well I somehow managed to land on top of a tree

then, as you do, you think "oh, if i destroy the tree, the ship will just fall to the ground and i can get in .. right ?"

If anyone is still playing this ..

What with my recent problems and having to re-format, steam has, rather 'helpfully', decided not to restore my saved game so i've lost a huge amount of time that i've put in.

I had 23 slots on my ship, close to maximum on the suit and about 18 odd on the mining tool, i'd completed at least two of the base threads (weapons and farming) and i'd made over 80 jumps on top of all that.

Is there any feasible way I can get back to that without having to start again ?

I have no qualms about "cheating" my way back to that point, or close to that point, so I was wondering if anyone had heard of any trainers or hacks i could potentially use ?

Obviously i'll have a google around myself, but if anyone has any bright ideas

If you search google there is a site that comes up straight away called nomansskymods.
Now if it's dodgy site I've got no way of trying so really don't feel safe linking to it. If it's legit it allows the below.

Numpad 1 - Infinite Health
Numpad 2 - Infinite Shield
Numpad 3 - Infinite Stamina
Numpad 4 - Jetpack Infinite Energy
Numpad 5 - Multi-Tool No Overheat
Numpad 6 - No Reload
Numpad 7 - Infinite Grenades
Numpad 8 - Infinite Items
Numpad 9 - No Crafting Requirements
Numpad 0 - Super Damage / One Hit Destroy
Ctrl + Numpad 1 - Starship Infinite Health
Ctrl + Numpad 2 - Starship Infinite Shield
Ctrl + Numpad 3 - Starship Weapons No Overheat
Ctrl + Numpad 4 - Infinite Units
Ctrl + Numpad 5 - Add 500 000 Units
Ctrl + Numpad 6 - Super Speed
Ctrl + Numpad 7 - Open Locks Without Atlas Pass
Ctrl + Numpad 8 - Translate All Alien Languages
Alt + Ctrl + Numpad 1 - Launch Thruster Infinite Energy
Alt + Ctrl + Numpad 2 - Pulse Engine Infinite Energy
Alt + Ctrl + Numpad 3 - Hyperdrive Infinite Energy
Alt + Ctrl + Numpad 4 - Phase Beam Infinite Energy
Alt + Ctrl + Numpad 5 - Life Support Infinite Energy
Alt + Ctrl + Numpad 6 - Hazard Protection Infinite Energy
Alt + Ctrl + Numpad 7 - Multi-Tool Infinite Energy / Ammo
Home - Disable All

I do warn though I've been the same situation before, and cheating literally ruined my time with skyrim, I just could never get myself to enjoy the game again.

Your last sentence really does hit home for me i think because I do think i'd probably feel exactly the same in the end - the one thing that kept me coming back to the game was wanting to make it to the centre of the galaxy, but off my own back. I think once you had the trainer up and running, your mindset would change for sure.

Also, the trainer does nothing towards jumps as well, so even if i ramped everything up to max, i'd still be 80-odd jumps down and I don't really think i fancy getting in to that all over again.

I might fire the game up and have a quick play around, see how long it takes me to fix up the first ship and get going and i'll decide, but i think i'll probably end up moving on to something else.

Cheers for looking anyway

I'm still playing it. Had a brief pause since getting it in September but with the foundation update have picked it up again. Problem is, i keep wanting to find all the fauna before leaving a planet!

Well I tried it last night for a bit and I just can't carry on. Nipped around the first planet pretty rapidly and got the ship operational in record time. Found a monolith on the way and did that and it had me at level one with the gek, and i remember being at least level 25 in my old save.

I was back to being over 175k light years from the centre and I had made it to around 162k in my last save and that really just put the nail in it unfortunately, so I uninstalled.

Might go back to it if someone can work out a hack or a game mod that will let me re-construct my last save to as near as possible but I think that's it for me.

I only bought this last week. I bought it for about £24 for the PS4. I heard about the foundation update so I thought I'd give the game a try. I'm following the path of the Atlas at the moment and started my base. I'm surprised at how similar everything looked despite having over a quintillion odd planets.

I did stumble across a planet on my first day that appeared to be claimed by somebody else. However I'm not sure if it's real or not.

Well I couldn't resist the tempation and did go back and did try the trainer.

Found a 25 slot ship very, very quickly and bought that, as that was how many slots i had beforehand .. but .. that's where the whole idea really just died on it's arse.

There's a mod that will multiply all warp drive ranges by 1000 which would, in theory, quickly get me back to where i was with regards to getting to the centre.

Thing is ..

You'd still have none of the upgrades - advanced mining laser, warp drive upgrades, shield e.t.c... all of that, so you'd still have to explore around to find everything and upgrade.

But hey, at least i've tried it and at least i know so i can move on.
