I was so hyped for this game that I don't think it can live up to my expectations, and after watching some streams everything looks so samey. All the streamers seem to land in a similar looking valley with a similar looking base, all the flora and fauna seems to be a variation on the same few types and all the caves look the same
![]() Will still be buying it for sure especially since the PC version should have a considerably higher view distance |

Acceptable for you, maybe. A game played at 30fps compared to 60fps can be a different experience altogether. It's why given the chance, graphics settings will always be turned down to get at least 60fps.
For a fighting game or fast paced shooter, then yes, 60fps or bust. But for an exploration game of this scale, the need for a rich, varied, expansive, detailed game world trumps frame rates every time. Consoles have a finite amount of resources and the power available should be used in a way that best suits the game. In my opinion, the developers made the right choice in this instance. |

If the frame rate is only 30fps then I looks very unlikely it will be updated for Sony VR. Unless of course its VR on Neo only.

This game looks mad boring.
Reading impressions and its what I feared. I still want to know what the actual aim of the game is? The combat sounds horrible and it a lot of it sounds like a single player MMO. |

Won't happen. There's no Neo exclusives, VR or otherwise.

Games cannot be exclusive to Neo but Neo will be allowed to have "enhanced modes". Maybe they could get round it that way.

Perhaps. But Shuhei Yoshida recently reaffirmed that all VR games will be playable using the standard PS4.

Full human binocular fov is 114 degrees, monocular is 210, for fov to be comftable, it has to be at least 90 degrees and the framerate has to be at least 90 too. This game is running at 30fps with a field of view of around 45. Really, I don't think the consoles jumping on the 4k and vr bandwagons is a good idea at all. They're jumping on this tech far too early on. You want to impress with this sort of thing straight out of the gate. Their users are going to get a really bad impression of VR if it's running at low framerates/fov/resolutions. Don't forget to post screenshots of your starting planets, ps4 folk

All PSVR games must support a minimum of 60fps (reprojected to 120) and the majority are built from the ground up for VR. The net result is a legitimate VR experience. There's a PSVR thread further down the page. Happy to chat there if you want to discuss it further. |

Sounds like there's a lot of grinding involved. I thought it would be really dull myself as all you seem to do in it is gather parts and resources to go from one planet to the next. Would be fun for a couple of hours. Maybe they'll update it at some point to make it more interesting.

If you hoped for things like pvp multiplayer or city building, piloting freighters, or building civilisations… that isn’t what NMS is. Over time it might become some of those things through updates.

VideoGamer now reporting that Sean Murray has admitted the game might be a fundamentally different experience on Playstation 4 Neo.
Guess that's PS4 Neo having virtual reality confirmed. Though he also mentions better textures and such. |

There's never been any official word that NMS is coming to PlayStation VR

So, is the ps4 version go then? Is anyone playing? |

By the end of this week, they should be able to take full stock of their bank balance and decide where to warp to next. NMS could become abandonware within weeks or patched up into a pretty decent game by this time next year. That potential trajectory is more interesting than the current game. |

While I am not particularly interested in this game it's sold out locally. Which is really unusual. Last game I saw that did that was GTA V.

It seems like a rather sophisticated cash-grab by a small games company, using clever software concepts, a juggernaut hype-train and well known, developed, reality distortion field techniques.

For someone who doesn't want the game any more, you sure still have a lot to say about it. |

Haven't you got 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 ever so slightly different planets to discover?
Luckily I don't throw a tantrum because some people got it early.

Ok so I've actually played it, which is more than some who are offering opinions. The first hour went in seconds and i didn't even leave the first planet! It is massive, i got killed by plants, fed animals, made a home cave, as i'd gone far too far away from my ship. I've discovered new languages and build comms devices to communicate with other planets. How this game is gonna get boring is beyond me!!!

As I suspected.. the multiplayer or no multiplayer debate is kicking off.
Here is what was said of it prior to launch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE0nuW-mQ8A And here is what's triggered the debate: https://www.vg247.com/2016/08/10/no-...-other-at-all/ I expected the developers to have clarified today what the situation is but I'm not sure they have. Fans of the game are saying "Wait it's just not in the game yet..." Here is Sean talking, as ever, in vague visions and not giving any form of answer: https://i.redd.it/ewbz3uhy8iex.png I hope for their sake the game DOES have it and they're just trying really really hard to not reveal how it's accessed. But my hunch is the same as it was a few weeks ago.. it's not possible.. and they've not stated that because who wants a single player shared universe experience? |
