World Cup Shop Window. Who's impressed you so far?
It's early days but the World Cup is a showpiece to enhance a players reputation and clubs around the world are looking for players to sign.
Anyone impressed you so far? Ivan Perišić and Dejan Lovren look good. |

It's early yet but the guy with the hardest surname to spell in world football Vrsaljko (that's close) and it was good to see Olic still bombing down the left wing.
Mexico are usually a good bet to have a few unknown gems. A lot of their players stay domestic based when they could easily play abroad. This striker Peralta must be well respected to play in front of Hernandez. Endo of Japan is another great player, whenever they are up. |

It's not even a shop window. Only a fool of a manager would buy someone judged on a couple of games in a tournament. So expect the likes of Redknapp and Allardyce to make a bid or two for some half lame Cameroonian.

The two Dutch wing-backs, Janmaat and Blind, look really good in this match. They're new on me.

Olic looked typically East European to me. Hard, short haired.

Ronald Koeman left Feyenoord and is 1/10 on to be the new Southampton manager. Could they end up playing for Southampton? |

Mexico's left back Layun and Holland's left back Blind are the easy choices so far.

The obvious two: Blind and Martins-Indi for Holland. Also N'Koulou for Cameroon and Perisic for Croatia. N'Koulou was undoubtedly Cameroon's best defender but was fighting a losing battle with the players around him.

Blind. I can see him (no pun intended...really!) playing for Oranje for ten years, maybe the next Sneijder, and a manager in the making. Not just off one game, been following his progress for 12 months.

Joel Campbell of Costa Rica is having a good game against Uruguay. Arsenal fans will be pleased.

No mention of Tim Cahill yet? He was brilliant for an hour V Chile, was carrying Australia on his own. He's always been a decent header but looked better than ever and could've had a hat trick of them. Bresciano played well too as did many of the Chileans.
Cahill would be eclipsed by Joel Campbell though, best player of the five games I have seen. |

Practically all the Columbian team looked great going foward, but a few of those have been snapped up by bigger clubs already. Victor Ibarbo was a new name to me, he was a bit wild at times but looks a great prospect.

The person who scored Belgium's second goal, someone should perhaps offer his current club a large transfer fee for his services!

Surprised nobody's given Candreva a mention after the torrid time he gave Leighton Baines on Saturday.

If you mean Fellaini, he scored their first.
Karl Beckerman and Fabien Johnson of the USA were very good. Most of the South Korean team impressed me, very neat and technical, pity none of them can shoot. Ki for Swansea stood out for me. |
