Yep really good game that, after a dodgy start the Aussies showed great determination to edge back in to the game and were right in it towards the end until that 3rd Chile game killed them off.

Chile v Spain is going to be cracking game.

Australia were hard working but they don't have any cutting edge so it's hard to say that they deserve something out of it per say. They had some good chances but I felt that Chile had more.

Sergio Ramos could get a hat trick of headers from corners alone against them. That Chile side was being bossed by a 34 year old, they'll need to learn how to jump or grow 6 inches in a few days.

I'd say that 2-1 was about right, but 3-1 is a bit harsh on Australia. Australia certainly didn't disgrace themselves, although they started off promising that.

That's true, I was thinking in general play. Imperative for Chile not to give away any free kicks around the box or corners for that matter.

Great game that in the end - Australia are quite a dynamic and physical team who quite possibly deserved something out of that in the 2nd half.

Chile maybe prefer playing the role of underdog but both teams may cause the Dutch & Spanish a few problems yet in this group ... Alexis Sanchez has certainly shown that he has perfected his dying swan act during his time in Spain.

Agreed but it was inevitable given the stretching of the game. Still, this sets the rest of the group up very nicely.

Got Chile in the office sweep so happy.

Not a good trial run for tonight though!

Managed to stay awake for the national anthems then Zzzzzzzzzzz.

Poor nights sleep, awake at 5.30am, with no chance of an afternoon nap today so chances of making it to 1am tomorrow morning are pretty slim!

It's an age thing!
