What a goal-line clearance from Wilkinson!

Sliding towards his own goal and he somehow managed to scoop the ball away and keep the Aussies in the match.

Terrific game now.

A technician in the goal line technology truck in the car park outside throws down his headset. That was his moment, dammit.

Fair enough using goal line technology for something like that but do they really need to when we've just seen the ball make the net budge?

What happens if goal line technology shows a goal but only after a minute or two after playing has recommenced.

Fair play to Australia, this has developed in to a great game when it looked all over after 15 minutes.

Mark Chapman said on Twitter that the contract between FIFA and the GLT company states that the graphic HAS to be shown at least once a game. Therefore to make sure it gets an outing they show the first goal regardless of how obvious it is that the ball went in.

So, in short, blame FIFA. Again

This match is like Kylie's Minogue's bottom. Too good to take your eyes off.

Twits. They finally join the modern world and use tech which other sports have used for years, only to deploy when its not required.

This is FIFA we're dealing with, we can't overload their "fwagile little minds" with too much at once!

Aussies deserve an equaliser. I considered Chile a dark horse but boy, do they struggle at defending set pieces and crosses.

I don't know how this system works but with the one that the Premier League use in England the ref gets a signal immediately whether the ball has crossed the line or not.

Agreed.

And aside from the 1st 30 minutes the Chile attack hasn't been great either, they get a great position and then pass to someone 3 feet away but heavily marked.
