Today is an example of what WM would be like if it's budget got a massive cut. Lazy presenters and producers.

It will be interesting to see what WM's election coverage will be like. I guess it will be
22:00 Adrian Goldberg, Paul Franks and WM's team of reporters
03:00/04:00 Mike Taylor or Pete Morgan

On Friday it looks like Iain Lee will be on when the results from the final count will come in. I wander if Paul Franks will come on early.

Doesn't Iain Lee do a brekky show elsewhere?

Surely he's more than capable.

Today wasn't too bad for a bank holiday, near to the end of the footy season.

I'd be more concerned during a normal workday, if this sort of 'Bank Holiday' presentation became normal.

Iain Lee does breakfast on BBC 3CR and is very good. His WM style is a bit different but I take your point.

I disagree the shows where all music with a bit of talk around it. the way they did bank holidays about a year or two ago was the best. With it this close to the more interesting General Election of all time I was hoping for a bit better.

The normal weekday line is very poor now with DK only doing one or two topics now in the morning and less and less talk. I hope when the course that Gareth Roberts is running is finished he will return as editor and make changes just like he did 3 and a half years ago.

Apparantly (going slightly off topic here!) Ian Perry was the 'cover Hunter' on the Radio Shropshire version of Hunted(whatever its called?) this weekend just gone.

Will have to remember to Iplayer before the coming weekend.

He's wasted on Radio Shropshire, get the man back on a late night phone in.

Never heard his late night phone in but, I'm sure he is better than Graham Torrington.

Recall Ian Perry's Midnight line on Beacon many years ago, compared with the stagnate middle of the road love song tosh Graham Torrington is putting out at the moment _ A Ian Perry late night phone in show may well happpen.

Last week I noticed that after a slow start Alan Beswick on Radio Manchester/Lancashire is getting more people calling in. Apart from LBC, Metro and City Talk there are few stations that produce good late night phone in's. It's about time the BBC with it's public service remitt covered this under served area.

I agree. I used to listen to Duncan Barkes on LBC but since Ian Collins took over I now can't so there is nothing to listen to.

More cutbacks if he's going out on the East stations too!

Shades of the old Late Show circa 90's to early 2000's then!

If you havent heard this morning, Rebecca Wood is covering the Hunter role for Debi next week.

I shant give the answer for today's show out but nice allude to another former radio station of this parrish!”

Looks like Torrington is on the BBC local stations in the east midlands from the bank holiday weekend onwards, I assume this is permanent? Seems odd as Jenny Barsby who hosts the 10pm-1am slot at the moment hasn't been there that long.

Only half an hour?

Was it worth it?

Mind you, he did get 'collared' by one caller ringing about the Brum pub bombings!

Interestingly. Trish Adudu (Coventry & Warwickshire) is covering breakfast on WM on Monday, while Pete Morgan is covering her afternoon show on Coventry & Warwickshire.

Isn't the person running WM at the moment ex Coventry & Warwickshire?

I have noticed that Graham Torrington will be heard on BBC Radio Nottingham, BBC Radio Derby and BBC Radio Leicester from Sunday 24th May.

BBC Radio Lincolnshire have opted to join the BBC Yorkshire region for the Late Show Mon - Thurs with Russell Walker whilst rejoining the BBC East Midlands region on weekends.

Tv wise, isn't Lincolnshire allied to BBC North (Hull branch)?

I got Look Hull in Skeggy last year.

I spoke to my sister this morning as she'd been listening to Hunted.

It turned out one of the clues, the said location had been promoted online by the owner prior to the broadcast, as my sister went to the website & saw a mention of Bbc Wm being there today.

If that is correct, bit naughty of that particular establishment surely?

(Bit like someone spotting the radio car in a location at 855am, then ringing in without working it out!)

apparently Dave Townsend (BBC Cricket Commentator and friend of Richard Wilford) solved one of the clues yesterday.

BBC WM's listening figures are out (they cover January to the end of March) and it makes surprising reading. They are up and nearly as good as this time last year!

'Captain' Pete Morgan in the Hunted chair both today & next Sunday, in for Dicky Wilford.

(Quite ironic, as he was the 'original' presenter, but bailed out after a few weeks due to ill health!)

Anyone know what the story is with the BBC Shop at the Mailbox, as it was mentioned on air it was closing?
