Just done a software update on my Samsung UE40F5300. New software 1120.
Can't see what has changed, where can I find out what the update was for..?

If you Google 'av forums samsung software update 1120' then you'll see your question posed on 3 or 4 AV forums and the result is that nobody knows, not even Samsung!

My advice to you would be not to update the software at all unless you have some sort of problem. The updates invariably change the picture processing, reset all your settings to default, and muck up the picture. In my experience anyway. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Generally you're not told what updates are for, but they are much more often just bugfixes than additions, so you're not likely to see any difference unless you've had problems with one of the bugs that has been (hopefully) fixed.

So unlike 'evil c' I would strongly suggest you apply any updates, as it might prevent a problem you've not yet experienced.

Thanks Nigel.
The update didn't change any settings as Evil c said it could, and as you say it's always best to download the updates.
I've had a look through the settings and other stuff but can't see anything new added.

I thought the update may have been something to do with the BBC's connected red button service as I know some models of Samsung smart tv's are ready for it..
One thing I think the picture quality has improved, or that could just be my imagination
