The first game of today is from Group C and this clash between Colombia and the Euro2004 champions, Greece.
Enjoy the match!

One of two of groups of life, let's see if Colombia really are one of the dark horses, not expecting much from Greece though

Columbia look strong, even without Falcao, got them to win 1-0, though I won't be surprised if they get more.

Looking forward to seeing Colombia. It's likely to be either them or Ivory Coast we face should we make it through.

It always amazes me how Greece manage to qualify for tournament after tournament only to get outclassed when they're actually there.

Do they still use the same approach of getting men behind the ball and scoring on the counter attack or from a set piece that won them Euro 2004?

Looks like Juninho is BBC's equivalent of Cannavaro. Bit difficult to follow what he's saying.

I'm rooting for Greece for no other reason that they're underdogs. Don't know much about either tbh, but this section from the BBC' s preview of the group makes me think that Colombia might not actually do much at this tournament.

Quote:
“ Weaknesses: The absence of the iconic Falcao - a supreme predator with 20 goals in 51 caps and 155 goals in 198 club games since arriving in Europe.

Key centre-back Luis Perea is also ruled out so there are big question marks over the back four. Captain Mario Yepes, 38, is cripplingly slow, while Cristian Zapata and Pablo Armero have lost their places at club level and Juan Zuniga has barely played due to injury.”

They make them sound vulnerable.

Nice link that, bookmarked that and the other group summaries.
BBC website is so busy sometimes, I knew they would have it, but never found it yesterday.

Yes falcao could be a big miss for columbia.

Do the BBC know this starts in just over 15 minutes?

Columbia vastly overrated , Greece vastly underrated

Therefore a draw for me

I can't remember Lineker wearing glasses before. Don't sure they suit him either.

Some noise being generated by the Colombians inside the Estadio Mineirao.

Could be an interesting game if Columbia score first.

Interested to see Victor Ibarbo in action as there have been some rumours* of him moving to an English club.

* almost certainly complete rubblish but what the heck.

Half of Columbia must be in that ground. If they score the roof is going to come off.
