The housemates seem to get upset about it.

It's rude and disrespectful, you're ridiculing the other person.

To me it means you are exasperated with them........ it shows to others that you do not rate them.........you feel superior to them.........not a nice thing to do.......

Ok I get that bit, but the rolling eyes seems to annoy more than the effing, swearing screaming and patronising behaviour displayed by some. Strange
