This will be the first ever meeting between these two sides.
Enjoy the match!

This is pretty much a knockout game. whoever wins this should go through to round 2, if it's a draw though, that would make things very interesting

Switzerland should win, any other result I'd class as another shock.

Chiles is in his shorts today. I hope the ladies that usually contribute to these threads haven't fainted at that sight.

A definite draw. The money is down.

ITV being outdoors is a good move, sets it apart from the BBC

It seems from the masses of empty seats in the Estadio Nacional and the large queues outside that many thousands of people are going to miss the kick off.

I have Switzerland in one of my sweepstakes so my allegiance is with them for the next 90 minutes or so!

Truth be told, though, even before that I did tip them to win this group. Kiss of death if ever there was one.

Loved the itv build up on the beach
Not a fan of chiles sometimes, but hes been good so far this world cup

Swiss on paper to walk this, but seeing equador against england they may surprise the swiss.

Apart from the Japan game at stupid O'Clock this morning, this the first game that I'm not really bothered about. Going to watch the cricket and keep an eye on the score online.

Dull game and the poorest so far.

I feared lots of these games but thankfully we have a goal

Ninth game and still no goalless games

At least there's still no goalless draws, decent goal.

The game definitely needed that goal. Hopefully it will spur the Swiss in to a reaction.

Untypically poor marking from Switzerland there, Valencia barely had to move from the spot to head that in.

Thank goodness I avoid the pre-match delights on ITV, would've been scarred for life!

How many opening goals have been scored in the 20-25 minute of a game? Seems almost every match.

Well we've had 9 games out of the 64, wonder what the odds are on all 64 games in the entire WC without a 0-0?

Dominguez looks very fragile in goal for Ecuador.
