ecuador looking better at the back than they did against england

great commentary here:
"switzerland have a free kick RIGHT AT THE END of the 1st half. switzerland have five minutes to try and find an equaliser in this first half"

For all the organisation Switzerland are supposed to have, they can't mark and they can't take corners. All those hours on the training ground have really paid off then?

Tell you what, if France don't get out of this group they will all deserve to be banished from their home country forever.

Only 1 of the 9 matches so far has hasn't had any goals in the first half.

Clarke Carlisle says he's amazed Jackson Martinez can't get in this Ecuador side. I'd be amazed if he was in the side seeing that he played yesterday for Columbia

I tend to ignore what he says so would have missed that

Was about to comment on this. ITV really are the kings of hiring complete buffoons.

ITV making us all jealous with nice view of the Copacabana in the background there, what a great job those guys have.

Is it just me or do a lot of the stadiums look similar on the inside? I thought the stadium used in this game was the same one used for the opening match of the cup (which was Sao Paulo).

Spain, Uruguay and Japan all went 1-0 up and went on to lose, Ecuador now following suite?

Awful awful defending as well - Gruezo didn't even bother to jump with Mehmedi and Paredes should've made a better attempt at heading the ball off the line as well.

What is Clarke Carlisle going on about? Of course a referee can allow play to continue after a foul and produce a yellow card for it after the play has finished!

These two teams seem evenly matched. It's similar to the Japan vs Ivory Coast match last night.
