Price won't go down, may go up.

Their whole ecosystem is set up for the future.
iAd aims for ad control of the web browser, iBeacon goes for the wifi and bluetooth marketing message business. Even Siri seems part of that income tool.

So, they easily outdo that Amazon Fire phone, but being able to get premium prices means any low Apple price is risk. Prices should come down dramatically, but when?

Maybe it is yet another one priced artificially high for A T & T to tell fools what value an A T & T $1400 contract with a phone freebie is?

The new iMac seems to be a really low spec, but I suppose it's not actually that bad and will actually sell. Not as bad as, say, an 8GB iPhone that - to me - is pointless and must frustrate developers who will now have people having to uninstall their apps/games to make room for other stuff.

Good to see the price cuts on the other iMac models though, as I am in the market for a new iMac after having some issues with my late 2009 model. Although, I'm actually hoping to get a refurbished model from Apple and was just waiting for a price cut so they'd also get cheaper (I would be quite happy with a 2012 or 2013 model if the price was right, and perhaps with a Fusion drive that costs a fortune as an upgrade on a new one).

It will continue so long as mugs keep paying £40 per month on 24 month contracts etc
